Update Nov 3rd

Hello everyone,

I am sorry for being MIA, I have been so busy and I had some trouble with my email notifications. My Realself email notifications were going to my spam box. I finally got the problem corrected and we are back in business. I am sorry that I have not posted pictures yet and unfortunately that might not be possible because I lost my phone and lost my before pictures. If I post pictures of right now, that might not give you a good idea of things but I do remember my measurements and I can tell you guys that! I lost 9 inch around my tummy and added 3 inches to my behind. I am very happy with my results, my scaring is light at the ends but in the middle is still pretty dark. If anyone has questions about my experience while over there or my recovery please do not hesitated to ask!!!

Yes, Change I was considering going to her. The only negative things I've heard about Dra Bello is that she had 1 pt die in her care, because the pt had Asthma and I think she didn't tell Dra Bello about it. Now I thinko about it and go over reviews,it seems Dra Yily has more negatives said about her than Bello, yet women are still flocking to Yily. Yily doesn't have any deaths under her belt that I know of,but she has LOTS of Infections attributed to her.
Hi change , was it only tummytuck u got or did it include bbl. Also do u know if she does breast reductions
Hi, I did a tummy tuck and my behind. And yeah she does do breast reductions- one of the ladies in the recovery home did a breast reduction and she loved it
Thank 4 that info. And are here bbl dramatic. Does she give projection?
And does d RH hv airconditioned rooms
I think the bbl are pretty good...and the recovery house has air conditioners in the bedrooms but not around the house. They do have fans.
Tnx so much sis
no problem! Hope all goes well!!
Do you have post op pics?

Sorry for the late update but I am back!!

I am sorry for the late update! My incision is still unhealed but I do feel better. A few things that one must keep in mind while traveling over there is that when you are taken to the recovery home -- it is in fact a home in a shady part of Santo Domingo where you will be sharing rooms with our patients. You will be in the hands of an elderly women who will help you heal and does the cooking as well. There is no medical assistance while you are in the recovery home except for the prior knowledge of the elderly women but she is not medical personnel. They will take you to the clinic if you are in need of it but other than that you are in the house 24 hours a day. The home has bars in the front for the safety of the patients which is thoughtful but still very scary!

I was quoted 6 massages but since I only stayed for 11 days they told me that I had to go to this other lady in the Bronx who would continue giving me massages but at my own expense. Also I came home with non dissolvable stitches that were taken out by the lady in the Bronx for free. While in DR. they push you to buy two garments and they are each 165 dollars, I believe... I only sow the doctor two times the morning of surgery when she marked me up and 6 days later when I went for my first massage.
Also - ---- some of the nurses were very nice but others were shockingly inappropriate and down right rude. While I was in the recovery home I spoke to some of the other girls and they all agreed with me about the nurses. All the nurses had problems getting blood from almost all the girls in the recovery home. One lady had her both arms completely bruised, they were unable to draw blood from me as well and even tried to get some from my foot. They even made me feel bad because they were unable to draw blood.

The tummy tuck results are noticeable but I am still swollen so I can not wait until I can work out again. Requirements after surgery are to sleep face up for 3 months!! Have to wear your garment 24 hours a day for at lease 1 month but most girls are wearing them for 3 months! You can not get into water or work out for 3 months. Also not bathing for a month - baby wiping daily (ewwww) I did not know that but I guess is a small price to pay. I have gotten obsess with wiping 3 times a day!! Any who -- if you guys have any questions I would be happy to answer anything.. Pictures are coming up but not at the moment -

Hi could you inbox me some pictures because I'm going in Dec and I can't seem to find a lot of BBL pics for her..
Did you get your surgery done?? Post pics
just curious what negative things were said about her I'm in the process of looking at doctors and I was considering her. do you love your results could you post or send me pictures if you don't mind
Hey, I am sorry I lost my phone and lost my before pictures :-( but I do like my results. My scare is still pretty dark in the middle but thats because I had some difficulty recovering.
I also want to know negative things said about her. The positives I've heard about her are that her pts have very little scarring and that she is great with bigger women. Problem I have with her is that she is hard to get in touch with. Sent her pics twice and still no response. Plus, she doesn't have too many post op pics outside of her website.
Hey, yes the website seems to be having a lot of issues, they told me back in May they were working on it. I also notice when I first spoke to her in the winter she was very available, we spoke plenty of times. When it was closer to the summer I believe she become really busy and it was harder to get in contact with her. Are you considering going to her?
Hi. You can contact her & send pics thru Real Self or you can call the '347'# on her website. When are do u plan to go?
I just got back from having surgery with Dr Bellos. My expereince is far different than the original posters. I had a tummy tuck and I had my bat wings removed from my upper arms. Dr Bello was very engaging, I saw her quite a few times. She was waiting for me when i arrived and met with me shortly thereafter to do the evaluation prior to my surgery. She was pleasant, informative and willing to answer all my questions. After that I was taken upstairs to my room. It was sparce but pleasant. The only thing about this part was that there were no mattress pads on the bed. The bottom sheet was put directly over the plastic covered mattress. Its hot there and I was concerned it was be sweaty and uncomfortable. I asked the nurse to put an extra blanket between the mattress and the sheet. She gladly did. Problem solved. As far asnthe nurses and the care while I was in the clinic, I had no problems. Each nurse knew her job and performed it well. Each nurse was kind and very pleasant. At times, there were a few difficulties with the language barrrier. That problem was quickly resolved by using the english to spanish translator on my tablet. I found that to be an invaluable tool and I highly suggest you pack one. They have sufficient Wi-fi. As far as the Recovery center....Delores is the lady who runs it. I cant say enough kind words about her. I was very well cared for. My wounds were attended to perfectly. She does have some medical background unlike what the original poster said. She wasnt a pushover by any means, but she made sure that I walked as directed, ate healthy foods and got back and forth to the clinic for my follow up care each day. Or the original posters comment about the neighborhood.....and having bars on the windows.....there are bars on every window! They dont have glass windows like we are used to. Its the Carribean and they depend on the ocean breezes. I asked about the bars too. They are for protection, but only because they dont have windows like we are used to. Yes, the house is in a neighborhood that according toAmerican standards might be "shady" but I never felt at risk or unsafe. In fact, that was one of my favorite parts of the whole expereince. I got to experience a partnof Dominica while i was there. I may be unusual in thatnaspect, but I would of been highly unhappy stuck in a clinic for 10 days. Delores' home was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. My name is Karen McGuffin and I live in Dallas, Tx As for the results....I have been home for a week now. My stiches are disolved and the ones that needed to be removed are gone as well. I will wait a few more weeks before ascertaining the results. There are a few areas still swollen so im not sure what the final outcome will be yet. I Also never got a massage while there, but in truth I'm ok with that. I don't like people pawin' at me when I dont feel great so it was a non-issue to me. At my final visit I was given a shower. Ahhhhh...what a wonderful feeling. This was 9 days post op. After my shower Dr Bellos and my nurse Aanie took me upstairs to the onsite beauty shop and dried my hair and styled it too. That was such feeling after feeling so dirty for over a week. One thing I will point out here is that in the Domincan Republic, they dont seem to have washcloths. Or I didnt know the roght word for them. I would highly suggestnyou take soem. Babywipe bathing is highly ineffective.
Hi Kari041 I was wondering if you hv any b4 & after pics. I'm scheduled for Feb '14. I'm a little nervous but happy to finally go. Hope all is well. Congrats on ur Sx
Sexymomoftwo.....im having a few issues and will send shortly.
Hello, kari041- I am glad you had a great experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case for everyone. Yes, I use the word shady because it was an area that I was told by the local people that it was not save. I am also from a tropic location and know very well how the houses are in locations such as this one but it still made me and other patiences uncomfortable. I also informed people that the lady LURDES did not have an prior medical experience because that is the information she provided us. I do speak Spanish very well and communicated with her all day long and I asked her directly if she had prior medical background. Like I said, I am very glad you had a great experience but I am telling people MY opinion and what happen to me.
On the wall in Delores living room is her diploma and graduation picture from a health degree program. I dont read spanish, but was able to read the essence of the degree. We will have to agree to disagree on this point. While there during myn0 10 day stay in the recovery house, we took a few trips by taxi to the local mall, to the local market, etc. Never once did I feel unsafe or at risk. The local people in the DR were lovely! I've traveled extensively and think I would recognize dangers, vs lower income. If I had any reservations about traveling to the DR, my safety or care at the Recovery House would NOT be it.
You are right we will simply have to agree to disagree which is not a bad thing it just means we had a different experience and different ideas of certain things. I must tell you while I was there I did not see any medical degree and when I asked her, she said she did not have medical experience and that she has just been doing this for a very long time. Also her name was Lurdes, I am only saying this to make sure that we are speaking of the same person. I will say she knew what she was doing and I trusted her care but it made my fell uncomfortable that she did not have any medical education. We were able to go to mall the last two days in the house and it was very nice. I knew local people in the area and I am just quoting what they told me. They told me that area is low income and therefore the crime is higher in the area due to that reason. I only spend 12 days there and obviously I have to take what people of the region tell me.
