14 years ago I went to Dr Sobel in Manhattan to discuss treatment options for acne scarring. He suggested microdroplet silicone injections. I asked if any side effects would occur. He assured me that he was using so little that i wouldn't have an issue. I went for 1 treatment despite him suggesting at least 2. Thank God I didn't go for more. Initially and for 10 years my cheek looked flawless. 4 years ago I started to notice raised lesions in certain lighting. They were small and only noticeable in bad lighting. Each year as I aged and lost collagen these lesions became more pronounced. In certain lighting the texture of my cheek looks bumpy and irregular. I finally went back to Dr Sobel and he injected cortisone. I did this twice and it didn't work. This has been a huge source of emotional stress for me. I recently tried cautery to lower a lesion and I'm waiting for that to heal but I think it will leave a scar of it's own. DO NOT DO SILICONE INJECTIONS EVER. They can't be removed or fixed. I wish I had a warning 14 years ago. Drs shouldn't administer this yet they do. If anyone reading this has any advice on treatment that could help the raised lesions I have now, please write back!

I’m in the process of fixing over corrections in some areas that the silicone was injected in my acne scars. Best thing you can do is get CO2 Recerfacing done in a the areas that the lumps are located. So far I have been able to make a few lumps less noticeable. Going for another treatment soon.
Hi
So that's working? They're lasering the actual lump down? Where are you having this done? And what area of your face? Thanks!
I've had the same issue. I had silicone 8 years ago and it looked great for about 4 years. Now, as I age you can see lumps and some are discolored. I've had kenalog and 5 Fu injected. It works a little, but is only temporary.
@kmart52887 Was your C02 resurfacing done with a fully ablative laser or fractional ablative laser?
Hey do you still have the lumps and bumps from silicone? I recently had some of my bumps removed. Message me for more info. There is a way to get rid of the silicone!!!
Hi
My Dr recently injected kenalog 3x and the bumps are down. I got mild atrophy of the area but I don't have visible raised lines anymore. What have you been doing?
There's a plastic surgeon in Los Angeles that removed them for me. Timothy Katzen is his name. Located in Beverly hills Los Angeles. In all honesty I would recommend to remove the silicone if it is causing any more issues.
Did that leave scarring? How did he do it
Go see Dr Gallerani in Aventura Florida. He can get it out. It has to be cut out. No laser or heat ever. It makes it worse. Dr Gallerani is the best. Not cheap but the best.
It left some scarring. More like a thin line scar. And he did it by excising as if he was excising a mole. He even showed me the silicone balls afterwards.
Wow that's crazy. I heard of cutting it out. Mine isn't so raised where i'm ready for that. How bad was yours?
Can you both call me at 5166986600
Mine wasnt even that raised tbh but I sorta realized as time progressed the silicone would become more noticable and I'd eventually have to have surgery so I just decided to get it over with.
