Planning to Have Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty,

ORIGINAL POST

I am planning to have the Endoscopic Sleeve...

bitochon
I am planning to have the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty done sometime in January. I have decided to have it done because my main problem with weight management is portion control. Over the past 3 years I have gained about 26 lb., but 15 of those pounds I have gained in the past few months. I think I started putting on weight really fast when I realized I could have this procedure done. I guess it is like I'm in party mode until I actually have the procedure . I fully realize that this mindset is counterproductive and now that it is getting closer to the actual procedure date I am watching myself more. I have done lots of research on many different bariatric procedures and have chosen the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty because it is one of the least invasive and can be done even though my BMI is only 34. So, for the next few weeks I will try to watch what I eat, and use portion control to try to lose a few pounds before the actual procedure is done.

I’m also considering ESG, BMI is 38 (I thought it was 35 until I weighed myself again). My eating habits are horrible. Anyhow, I’ve done my consults, and set a date!

Did you set a date for the procedure and decide on a surgeon yet? I'll be having mine February 6th 2018 with Dr. Maytorena in Tijuana. I am going to start documenting my experience next month during the pre-op liquid phase. Would love to connect and share experiences. Good luck!

I wish you lots of luck. I was considering going to Mexico for it but I was unable to get any info. Is it really worthwhile to go there? I live in NY so it is a lot of travelling. Where do you live?

What is the cost? I'm wondering if it is cheaper there. NY is usually very costly.

Prices range from 8500-16k depending on where it’s one. In Houston (Dr Marvin) is 11,800. There’s also a Dr Wilson in Houston for 8,500. It can be done in New Orleans for 10k
