Pippa Aged 72 and Her Reassignment Surgery.
WORTH IT
I first submitted this review prior to my hospital admission, but due to a site problem it did not get posted. I am right now typing this from my recovery bed at The Nuffield Hospital in Brighton UK, on day three post -op, after my Labiaplasty, and Vaginoplasty, and I must say very happy and pleased with myself. My surgery on Wednesday 4th July 2018 went do well.
Mr Thomas is one of our top Gender Reassignment surgeons here in UK. (all UK Royal College of Surgeons are addressed as Mr, Mrs etc.)
All his patients are admitted for a full week, so I will be discharged on Wednesday 11th July. My operation went well, the most painful part being having to stay in bed on my back for the first three days post-op. I was circumcised prior to surgery but he managed 5 inches of virginal depth. I will post an update next week as, yet my pack has not been removed, so I have not seen my new neo-vulva.
I have posted a video which I done a few weeks ago on what is purely my belief of how the operation will go. I not saying this is exactly the procedure that my surgeon Mr. Thomas will use.

UPDATED FROM Mrs Pippa
4 days post
Pippa on GRS day four
Hi, it’s now coming up to the end of day 4 for me at The Nuffield, here in Brighton, and I now have just two days to go before discharge. There are I believe three Gender Reassignment Surgeons here Mr Thomas, Mr Coker, and one other I have not yet met. I just can’t find anything bad to say about my treatment and surgery under Mr Thomas here, it has been just one wonderful experience. All staff from housekeeping to surgeons being so easy going and friendly.
For a quick recap, I booked in at 0615 am on Wednesday 4th July 2018 and was shown my way to room 18 which was to be home for the next week. I gave myself a good shower, before having a douche and enema fitted with special stockings and made ready for surgery. At 10:15 I was taken down to Dr Simon Thorpe my anaesthetist prior to being handed over to Mr Philip Thomas my surgeon.
I came around back on the ward. Feeling very sleepy but very comfortable and so happy. I was given a liquid lunch and evening meal.
Day one Thursday, was to be spent all day on my back I bed, after a bed bath, the only discomfort being from having been on my back all night and day. I had slept well. Liquid food only and loads of water to drink to keep my catheter nice and clear. My own television and a wonderful view of the sea and downs being a valuable asset.
Day two, Friday being much the same as day one. I was allowed some toast for evening meal
Day Three, Saturday began with a bed bath, I was allowed to sit up a bit more in bed and started on a low residue diet with a wonderful chicken sandwich with apple juice before watching England playing Sweden world cup match on television. Evening meal was mashed potato, a beautiful piece of chicken and carrots, after which I could sit out for half an hour in a chair, which proved hard on my bottom due to my packing still being in place.
Today has been Sunday, day Four, which started with an assisted wash, then a sit out in my chair again, which I choose to kneel in the chair which was so much more comfortable. I got into some stuff on my laptop and watched the British Gran Prix from Silverstone, until my very special visitor arrived. Diet today was back to a normal one, and everything feels marvellous.
Tomorrow is the big day, when dressings and packing come off and I shall see my new vulva for the first time.

UPDATED FROM Mrs Pippa
14 days post
Pippa 13 days post-op update.
Everything looks so good 13days out, after discharge from Nuffield last Wednesday, the sun has shone most days so spend days naked in the garden sleeping, seems to have worked wonders for healing. Only problems have been with dilating but getting better. Up until now only been able to get a Soul Source P2 dilator in at full depth of 5ins. I'm going to increase my dilating from 3 times a day to four in the hope I can get over this. Also have a stubborn healing problem in the Perineum area with sutures, sitting does not help, and is difficult., but otherwise so happy and pleased with everything.
