NuFace side effects - unrelenting pain in face, jaw, neck

I have used nuface for 6 weeks, my skin and hair have dried out unbelievably, so lethargic. Change to bowel habits ! I have a thyroid problem and wondered if this is why ?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I developed facial pain similar to yours and strange sensations (squeezing/crawling type feelings in the bridge and side of my nose and in one of my cheeks) shortly after using the nuface for a week a year ago and am still dealing with symptoms after a year of consulting all types of doctors, trying meds for nerve pain, having multiple scans done, investigating whether I have a TMJ or ENT issue, etc etc etc. I don't know whether my ongoing symptoms are related to the very brief usage of the nuface or not, just that they surfaced shortly after using it (I had no pain or symptoms while actually using the device). I truly sympathize with what you're experiencing and also the fear and anxiety around it. If I can be of any help at all with questions, etc., please don't hesitate to ask. I have had the NuFace for about 4 years. I do notice a nice difference when I use the device. One outstanding aggravating factor is that the device itself is a nightmare to “line-up” correctly onto its battery mount. On a good day, I can do it in 5 try’s. Normally, it takes about 9 attempts. I’ve never dealt with this issue with any other product. 4 years later with the same issue. If you are thinking of buying one, Inquire about a design change to see if they have upgraded this issue. For the amount of money, you shouldn’t have this much difficulty with the device.

I do have the same side effect. I used it 3 days and my neck hurts today, needle pains at some spots on my face as well.

Trigeminal neuralgia has many possible causes including neck injury, illness, etc.

One common and overlooked cause is herpes zoster virus-most of us had chicken pox. Request blood AND saliva/nasal skin tests tests from your doctor ASAP. Blood tests are often not as accurate as other types of tests. The drugs commonly used to treat TN do not work well and the side effects are as bad as the illnesses. If your zoster levels are high, common antivirals & a vaccine may help with your pain. DO NOT WAIT. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that your nerve damage is permanent.
