I'm going to keep this short and sweet, because the last time I tried to post before my surgery last week, my long introduction just disappeared before posting. :-(

Anyways, my name is Natalie and Im 29. I have three kids ages 9, 6, and 2. Ten years ago I lost over 100 lbs through diet and exercise, and have managed to keep it off, not including the pregnancy gains and losses. Before surgery I plateaued at 155 (my highest weight ever was around 255) and have remained there for about a year now. It had left me with a lot of loose skin, and a lower skin apron that just hung there and showed through all my clothes.

Last year I started looking into a tummy tuck, and Dr. Reisin was recommended by a family member. When I went for a consult, he told me I had so much loose skin, that I would see much better results with a circumferential body lift. I wasn't expecting that news, especially since it was practically double the cost of the regular tuck. However, that became my new aim, and for the next year I researched and saved money and began preparing.

Fast forward to today, I am 3 days post op. I had the circumferential belt lipectomy, and liposuction of the medial thighs. I kept hearing from the nurses that I wasn't going to be without pain, even with meds, and boy were they right. This has been the most painful thing I've been through. When I sit still, I'm okay. But then my butt goes numb. I get up to walk every two hours or so, and it feels sometimes like my skin is ripping on the inside, the burning feeling is excruciating. But it goes away once I stop moving. I'm am very swollen, and it feels like I'm going to burst out of my binder. As long as I stay on top of my meds I'm okay. Just waiting to get through this week. It's the hardest part.

Unfortunately I didn't take before pics, but I have after pics. I will try and find some Regular clothed photos of myself later on. But for general purposes, I'm 5'2 and pre op weight 155. I wore a size 10 in pants. The doctor told me he removed 12 lbs of excess skin. I couldn't believe it.

I will update as time goes on. Just hoping I don't have to rely on the pain meds so much very soon. I'm still hurting quite bad. :-(

So happy for you, you look great so far.... can't wait to follow your story. I had a lower body lift in May took a couple months to feel completely normal, but I was already back to work after two weeks...I know you will recover quickly since you are so young and you have 3 kids that need you, so that will give you a extra push there...Thanks for posting and post more pictures as you heal!

Thanks for your comment! :-) this is the first time I ever went through something like this, and also being under anesthesia, so I didn't know what to expect. I was a nervous wreck; however, I bonded with my pre op nurse and she prayed with me and I felt more calm. I knew God would take care of me. Yes, my kids need me, and I'm trying very hard to get back to maximum functioning for them. But my 9 and 6 year old have been helping me out tremendously. They are mommys little nurses. I don't know what I'd do without them! I'll be continuing to post as time goes on. I still need to find some "before" photos as well. :-)

We had out surgeries the same day, and I had exactly the same pain response...and I'm a tough chick! I'm still taking pain meds every now and again just to feel functional. This is a huge surgery! I hope you're healing well!

Yes, I'm actually still in pain now and it's over two weeks post op. My doctor wrote me a second script and I feel I was lucky for that. Doctors are usually hesitant to keep writing for narcotics since you can easily get addicted. But I can't even function right now unless I take a pain pill. I'm trying so hard to spread the times between them, but every four hours I start hurting all over especially my incision lines. The morning is the worse. I'm so stiff. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I know I can't rely on the meds forever, but when will this pain go away?

Hey there! Hang in there! I'm in a similar situation - my pain is managed without narcotics during the day, but I DEFINITELY need my Vicodin at night. I take 1/2 tab twice during the night because the pain wakes me up. I also had to get a second prescription for narcotics, but my surgeon and nurse say that it's very normal to still need pain meds two weeks out. I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Stay positive - the law of attraction is a powerful thing. Try visualizing yourself completely healed, and, I know it sounds crazy, but audibly say kind, healing things to yourself. You will get through this! We both will. This has been tougher than I thought, but I'm getting better every day, and I'm sure you are too. Let me know if you need some positive affirmation at any point! It'll be good for both of us!

I'm glad to be of help. I felt the same way, I was so very nervous. It took me a year after my consultation to finally go for it and schedule my appointment for surgery. It was all a whirlwind, but now here I am almost 2 months post op and couldn't be happier with my results. I still look in the mirror at my body in shock. I was in jcpenny the other day, and seen they already have swimsuits out. And even though it's only February and two feet of snow outside, I'm ready to buy my first bikini in over 12 years! Lol. Please don't be scared, it will all be worth it in the end!

Thank you for posting. I have been following a few posts on here. I am still in the "loosing my weight" stage. But want to have this type of surgery after I meet my weight goal. Can't wait to see how it all is when you are no longer hurting. I hope that makes since. I think you already look amazing. I still have a way to go even though I have already lost 75 pounds. YaY me...:)

Finally starting to feel a little better and a bit more normal. My inner thighs are very sore and swollen, and I'm itching like crazy, but compared to a few days ago, pain wise I feel great. I'm still so very swollen. I'm trying not to get discouraged because I understand swelling is to be expected. I have my one week post op appointment on Tuesday, and I'm looking forward to seeing how I'm doing. I'm posting a pic I took yesterday, post op day 3. Hoping my belly button shrinks a bit as the swelling subsides, but so far I am very happy with my results.

Had first BM this morning and let's just say it was stuck and had no plans on moving. Me being a nurse, I already knew the extreme measures I had to take to remove it, so I had no choice. Now I feel a whole heck of a lot better. I was so backed up and constipated. Thank god that ordeal is over. I've never been constipated in my life and I never want to be ever again. Last night I had some new pics taken. I'm really feeling a lot better. Less pain, able to stand up more straight. My stomach and back is numb but every once in a while I get these weird electric shocks and tingles where the incision lines are. I guess that's my nerves trying to form new connections. My inner thighs are very sore and bruised from the lipo, and feel kind of lumpy. The doctor didn't send me home with a compression garment for my legs. I hope that doesn't interfere with the end result. However I'm pleased with how fast and well I'm healing. I'm still quite swollen, but slowly but surely I'm making it. Still drowsy from pain meds though, so will update later.

You look great! I am going to follow your story since I am hoping to have this surgery done next month. I am scheduled for surgery. I already had the tummy tuck done hip to hip now i need him to do the same to the back to make me match. :) I cant wait. I hope you have fast healing. Let me know how soon they plan to take the drains out. I am worried that a week off from my desk job might not be enough time. :( I am excited for you though. You got me excited for my own! :)

Honestly I don't think a week off is enough time. I'm already into my second week and I still have my drains in and I feel exhausted. I took three weeks off of work, I go back jan 28, and I'm worried it might not be enough. However I'm a nurse, so I'm on my feet a lot more than I'm sure you are. Just follow your doctors advice. If he says one week is okay, then I'm sure it is. :-) and congratulations!
