49 years old. After raising 2 children, no matter how much I exercised, the fat on my tummy wouldn't go away. I was tired of exercising sooooo much. I read some scary reviews about tummy tucks... but I wanted it done. It's not a weight loss plan, but it's a body sculpturing surgery. I needed that. With some apprehension... I went to see a plastic surgeon, Dr. Delgado in Novato. I'm a nurse, so my primary concern was getting a good surgeon, one that would take time to get it right. Also a good anesthesiologist. It was a very positive experience at Dr. Delgado's office. Dr. Delgado did everything right and Dr. Gaynor, the anesthesiologist was very thorough in evaluating my needs. Everyone in the office was great. It felt weird to be the patient thought.... Anyway, I had the operation and it's now almost 6 months later... I'm still happy. I was one of those women that had fat around the middle with skinny bird legs and a small butt. Well, now I'm more evened out. My legs look better, my butt is a little bigger, and my breasts are bigger. My tummy is very nice. My goodness... what a difference. I'm glad I did it. I had a really tight tummy tuck, so it took 6 weeks to stand up fully and go back to work. There was some issues with the stitches due to my body rejecting a few of them. Nothing can be done about that, it just happens sometimes. The incision is all healed up now. If anyone wants my recommendation: 1) Have help at home for 1 week minimum, 2) Use a walker for 2 - 4 weeks post operative; otherwise, your back will be killing you. And, 3) Take your pain meds regularly. As far as surgical pain goes... I know how important it is to catch the pain with meds before it gets bad, so it wasn't that bad for me. I'd do it again.

The pre, & post op plan was tailored to my needs. All went as planned. Received excellent care from Dr. Delgado and Dr. Gaynor, the anesthesiologist, and all the staff. And the follow up was well beyond other surgeons...
