For Double Chin... No Change

I got PDO threads for my double chin. I saw no improvement (visible), although I didn’t say it “wasn’t worth it” bc maybe they will help improve the cells, tone, and build collagen etc. going forward.

I got ten threads, it wasn’t painful even a little bit, some of them I didn’t feel anything, others felt like a pin prick. I was numbed first. I am a little sore still, but not anything noteworthy. Not swollen or bruised. I cannot feel the strings, no asymmetric pulling etc. Basically no bad outcomes as others have suffered based on their reviews. Fillers were more painful in my opinion.

Once these dissolve, I’m going to try Morpheus8 for my double chin. It’s genetic, all the women in my family suffer from it unfortunately. PDO and next Morpheus8 are more in my budget than a neck lift at the moment. Based on Kybella horror stories of a)scar tissue disfigurement (thank you ladies for being so honest!) b) not working c) recovery time- I decided I didn’t want to go that route. I have had fillers in my chin and will likely have an implant at some point. 36 yr female. Thin build.

Feel free to comment asking questions or giving advice on what you think would work for my chin situation other than that listed above- thanks!!

No it didn’t hurt, was more of a sore feeling, like a bruise. It was tender to touch, but didn’t feel anything otherwise. I could open my mouth cautiously, if I made certain facial movements there would be a sharp pain, but only for that instant, didn’t last. But drinking (not from a straw) and eating I didn’t have a problem with. If you’re a stomach sleeper then yeah, you’re going to have issues, but if on your back you should be fine.

Hello - hope your procedure has begun to show the improvements you wanted. Would you mind stating where it is that you had this procedure done? Thank you.

I had it done at Anna’s Aesthetics in Tampa/Oldsmar. The nurse comes in twice a month to do it. You just schedule through the website.

I don't see a thread lift doing anything for a double chin unless it's being caused by loose skin. If you naturally carry more fat in that area or have a weak chin other options such as sculpting procedures, fillers, or an implant would be better. Be super careful about implants though because done incorrectly they can have disastrous effects. Also, your body might reject the implant. It costs money to have them removed. Another issue are implants becoming noticible under the skin as people age.
