Review with Dr Bassi

Karenh451
WORTH IT$3,000
Its now been 5 and a half weeks since my procedure. I went for my review meeting with Dr Bassi on Wednesday. He was very pleased with the results and took some photos and said he would be putting the before and after pics on the website. He also said he wouldn't need to see me again unless I had any queries.
Overall - I do believe the procedure is probably the easiest part of this whole process. The aftercare really is the key to getting good results and this is entirely down to the individual. The last 5 weeks have been an experience and I am very pleased with the results.
Anyone who is considering having this procedure must be aware that the compression garment and foam will probably need to be worn for anything up to 3 months and that any normal exercise (gym, horse riding etc) will be compromised during this time period. This procedure is not a 'quick' solution. I am going to wear my garment and foam for at least 12 hours a day for the next 8 weeks - this time period could be different for each person as the aftercare is tailored to each individual.
I don't mean for the above information to sound negative, I would just like people to be aware of what its really like! I have no regrets about doing it and being able to get back into clothes I haven't worn for years is simply priceless!

Day 23

Karenh451
Day 23 - I have now booked in for my next review with Dr Bassi - it is on the 9th October and I am hoping I will then be able to stop wearing the compression garment. I have uploaded some pictures I have taken today and tonight I also tried on some trousers that I couldn't get into pre op and I could easily fit into them and do them up! Really pleased with the overall result and I am getting much more feeling back in the skin as well as less tingling.

Hello, you look fantastic. I am booked in with Dr Bassi in a couple of weeks for my upper and lower stomach doing, I hope I get the same result as you! I notice you've used the same garment as I've been advised to purchase and I wondered if you ordered a size smaller? I was advised to go for a small but when I phoned to order I was talked into buying a medium after I'd given my measurements. I've tried it on over my underwear and a vest top, it fastened quite easy, was very comfortable and not 'tight' at all.
October 12, 2014
Hi, thanks for your kind comments. I measured myself before the op against the guide on their website and my waist measurement fitted into the 'Large' category so I ordered the large. It is not easy to get on and it is tight - even now after 5 weeks and that is with no underwear on - you wear everything over the garment. Have you already bought the stay dry pads? The reason I ask is because I have 4 packs unopened as I bought too many - I could post them to you if you could use them? I don't really want them to go to waste!
October 13, 2014
Wow, how kind are you! I haven't bought any yet so that would be great and really helpful. Think I may have to change my garment as I don't feel there would be enough compression which obviously defeats the object. I also was under the impression I would only need foam for a short while, maybe a few days, then just wear the garment. Don't know how I will fit my work clothes on! I haven't been advised to buy my own ultrasound thingy yet, did you purchase one and if so where from? I really could do with ordering it before my procedure. Sorry for the massive reply but I'm really anxious and starting to panic a bit.

I have messaged you about the stay dry pads - with regards to the garment I would probably suggest you get the smaller size. I have two the same, I would definitely recommend having two because of washing and drying them each day. I have worn the foam 24/7 for the last 5 weeks and now I am going to wear it for 12 hours per day for the next 8 weeks, although each persons aftercare is different. It might be different timescales for you. I had to buy new work clothes as I couldn't get into any of my work wear - so I would recommend you buy something that is elasticated or a size bigger. The ultrasound machine I bought off ebay and it cost me around £55, I can message you the item number if you like? Thanks Karen

Congratulations for your surgery! You look fantastic.. I just booked my first consultation with Dr. Bassi and I'm considering to have 2-3areas done.. I'm 5-4 with 57kg, I'm slim person but I have a large stomach.. Anyways, how much it cost you 2areas?? And how much would cost me if I do 3areas?
September 18, 2014
Hi I paid £3000 for upper and lower abs but the price is different for each person depending on how much work is involved. As far as I know Dr Bassi only performs vaser on two separate areas at a time, so I wouldn't know how much 3 areas would be. When is your consultation? Karen x
September 18, 2014
Thanks for replying :) my consultation it is next Monday. I'm a student so I was expecting a little less than 3000 because there is more extra costs afterwards. I just hope that mine goes abit cheaper :/... Carla x
September 18, 2014
Yes the aftercare cost is expensive, when you add everything up, the garments, the massages, the ultrasound massage and gel, stay dry pads etc etc it costs a lot more! If you decide to go ahead please let me know as I have 4 unopened packs of Boots stay dry pads, and some stay dry bed sheets that I will happily post to you - that will save you a little bit and I don't want to just throw them away as it would be a waste. Karen x

Awwww you are so lovely such a good heart.. I will let you know for sure.. Thank you so much and God bless you Karen :)) xxxx
September 24, 2014
Hey Karen, I decided not to carry on with the procedure because I would not be able to afford the after costs. So I decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle and be patient until I get the results I want without surgery. But I'm considering to have it beginning of next year. Well let's see. I wish you all the best in your life and again you look great with your results. Carla
September 25, 2014
Hi Carla Thanks for your message, good luck with it all and hope you manage to achieve the results you are looking for xx
October 3, 2014
Hey Karen, do you know if They accept any payments plan?? Because I was thinking to pay 2000 upfront and the rest afterwards with instalments.. Is this possible? Carla [RS bleep]
October 4, 2014
Hey Carla, I know on the website they offer finance options, so you could always get a loan through the finance people for the rest - I don't know if you would need to be working or not, you would need to speak to them to check. Alternatively, you could do what I did - pay some directly to the clinic and I paid the rest on a Tesco interest free credit card - Tesco are currently doing an offer for 19 months interest free on all purchases - so I have got 19 months to pay it off before I have to pay any extra charges x
October 4, 2014
How can I apply for the free credit card from tesco? Is it easy to get? I'm a student and I don't work at the moment but u will try to find out about it more at tesco. Thank you so much for your advice. Xoxoxo

You look fantastic... Great results :) How much it cost you to do 2 areas ? And how much would cost for 3 areas?

Hi Karen!!! Thanks for your good wishes! It all went well apparently. Even tho one of the nurses told me I had really low pressure during the surgery. Also, I had to stay the night cuz I lost a bit more blood of what I was supposed to. But I'm heading home now :) I still have drenage tubes and my knees are swollen. But I know it's normal. I layer down in my stomach today because you mentioned that in your blog haha And I also got the massager to start using in a couple of weeks

So glad it all went, hope you have a good quick recovery and good luck with it all xx
