So it's finally my turn to start my tummy tuck...

So it's finally my turn to start my tummy tuck journey and I am just so excited. Had a 9lb 4oz baby in 2009 naturally then a 8lb 1oz by c-section in 2013. I don't know how much weight I gained over those years as I never dared weigh myself but it was a lot. Partner of 15 years finally proposed in 2014 and the date was set for 27th Aug 2016 so on 8th October 2015 I joined slimming world and lost 4 and a half stone. This has left me with the most god awful overhang of skin which no amount of exercise can fix. Seen 3 surgeons in Norwich and decided on the last one, Elaine Sassoon, after meeting her last night. Her expertise is body contouring and she's so funny, nothing was too much trouble and not once did I feel uncomfortable or rushed. Date is set for 3rd April!! I've read every single review, blog and story on the web but I'm still just so excited. I know it will be hard but I have a great husband who has 4 weeks off to look after me and the kids. I work part time in a school office so will have 16 days off as it's Easter. Just hope it's long enough to recover! Will post some before pics soon but in the mean time if anyone has any tips, please do share!!

Hi Jermummy. Ah no way! Who's your surgeon? I don't think it's really sunk in yet to be honest. I can't wait to get it done tho but nerves will certainly set in soon. How about u? X

Hi Lindsay, sorry for the late reply. I've only just seen your response. I'm having it done with Richard Haywood at our local private hospital. I really did my homework and saw 4 consultants in the end one local and 3 in London. Couldn't believe how much they varied in price but my husband and I chose the one we felt most comfortable with and who we thought could do the best job. I'm really excited about it but at the same time terrified of how hard the recovery will be with 3 children aged 5, 3 and 11 months. But it needs doing! I'm keeping a blog too but just can't bring myself to upload my photos. No-one except my husband and the consultants have seen my hideous stomach, I'm scared incase anyone I know comes across them! Ha! Who are you having yours done with? X

Yeah the 3 prices I got all varied from 6-8k! My surgeon is Elaine Sassoon. U may have seen her doing josie gibsons tummy tuck on celebrity botched bodies. He specialty is body contouring so even tho she's not the cheapest I know she's the best. I have a 3 and 7 year old but hubby will be home for 4 weeks (works offshore) so he will do everything. My hospital pack cake yesterday, admission for 11.45! Wish it was earlier so I didn't have time to think about it. Xx

Last holiday with this tummy

User Avatar
lindsay0106
So it's February half term here in the U.K. So we have brought the kids to Butlins in Skegness for a mon-fri break and I've just realised this will be my last holiday with my mummy tummy! My husband and the kids are swimming whilst I sit and 'spectate' wishing I had the confidence to wear a bikini and get in there. Yes I'm nearly 5 stone lighter but the confidence is still at zero when it comes to it. My surgeons secretary emailed while I'm away confirming the 3rd April as my operation date and will 'get the ball in motion'. Whatever that means. As I type this my arm is rested on my stomach and I keep thinking this will be gone soon! I'm so excited for this process to start. We are off to Florida end of September so hopefully 'swell hell' will have gone in them 6 months and my confidence get back up there. To say I've over eaten these last 4 days is an understatement, I've had the 'I'm on holiday who cares' mentality. Not weighed myself yet but I'm expecting a 7lb gain I reckon. Really going to focus on maximum weight loss in the next 6 weeks before surgery. Any tips for quick and easy weight loss for a busy working mum with 2 kids, a husband who works offshore (so no-one to tell me to step away from the cake) and very little willpower to chocolate please let me know. I've lost my weight with slimming world so I know I can get back on that and lose slowly but I need rapid results to get this holiday weight off plus more.

Hi, I'm due for my tt surgery on 31st March and am so excited, but I have read somewhere, been reading and watching everything I can, that you shouldn't embark on a mad diet to lose loads of weight! Probably to do with more keeping as healthy as poss, I've been thinking about doing my own story on here as there's not a lot of us from the good old U.K. Xx

Hey! Where abouts are u in the U.K.? Your a few days before me so be good to read your story. I have read everything too. A lot of the US reviews seem to go on a protein shake diet before so was considering that. Will just try get as low as I can healthily xx

I'm up in Cumbria. I've sorted and excercised all my life then had my 2 kids naturally and belly never been the same, even at my lightest it would be wrinkly, but since knowing I'm having my tt, don't know where my mindset is, keep thinking 'I'll eat that, it's ok coz I'm getting a tt'!!!! Need to stop it lol. Sorry for delayed response I couldn't find where to look to see if I'd had a reply ha

I think I'll post my photos and journey on the next few days, I'm off this week but I'm trying to keep this on the down low!! X

I haven't got that much of a tummy and my husband thinks I'm mad, but you know how is women are! I would be happier without the loose skin/fat xx

My stomach is horrendous. Total over hang of excess skin. I have bought such lovely clothes since losing all the weight but still have to choose loose flowy tops to cover the pouch. It's getting on my nerves now. X

Time to shift some weight!

User Avatar
lindsay0106
So after my holiday I have stayed 'off the wagon' and have gained 9lb! So I've started a very low calorie diet in the hoping to shift 14lb in the next 5 weeks before surgery. I started it yesterday so will update every week with my progress.
Received my medical questionnaire, blood test, before pics appointment (yuck) and another appointment with surgeon. So got lots to keep me busy which is nice as husband just gone away for work for 5 weeks ????. Time to juggle work, 2 kids, nursery and school runs, dog, housework etc on my own plus fight the boredom in the evenings and not eat!
Is there anything I should be buying in preparation for surgery?
