One week shy of 3 months postop. Back is SO much better than before BR. Cleaned up fall yard work, trimming shrubs and clearing overgrowth and fallen leaves, to get ready for company, no isue with all the bending and lifting. Up at 4am this morning to put 22 pound turkey in oven, no problem. I'm glad my back was improved by BR because before back ache interfered with sleep and daily life. Hope you all have a great holiday!

Back is still good after cooked the whole entire feast and on my feet since early this morning. My back is way better than before even after wrestling the 22 pound turkey several times. And guess what else....my boobs did not bump into one thing all days. No gravy stains, no sticking the tatatas in grease or anything while slaving over the stove. The new ones are just NOT in the way like the old huge ones were. And no underbreast heat rash either. I am so happy with my decision. Now toasting myself with a bit of Chardonnay as the out of town family is gone and the kitchen is (mostly) back in shape. Hope all goes well with you. Happy Holidays!

I can't tell you how much your journal has ment to me. I am crying as I read this...I'm so over ready to have BR. I will have a Dr. Appt soon to see if I can have insurance help. Your results are great and your honesty very touching.

Youth and Vigor

7 weeks postop -----Donning my sportsbra and formfitting athletic top this morning, enjoyed an invigorating 6 mile bicycle ride this morning. Since all my incisions are 100% healed, I was ready to ride this week. Earlier this week we tried out my brand new bike, but were cut short when one of the newly, and incorrectly, assembled at the store, pedals fell off after 4 miles. Neither bike ride caused any soreness or discernible swelling. Fresh from this morning's ride, feeling all energized and limber, and feeling good about how my new smaller tatas fit into sports clothes, I stopped for a takeout pumpkin coffee from the nearby Dunkin' Donuts. My good mood and exileration lasted up until I got home and saw my coffee receipt included a "Senior discount" . Really, I looked old???? NEVER in my life have I ever received nor asked for a senior discount. Even the nurse preop on the day of my BR was asking me how I kept my skin so young, beautiful, and healthy looking. Now I'm just mad. 7 weeks of recovering from surgery, and vigorous exercise, and somehow now I look like a senior? I know I am not young, I mean, I accept that and happy to age gracefully, but at least these perky upward thrusting new firm tatas should keep me off the seniors list until I actually turn 55 in another year. I know I am blowing this out of proportion, but it made me want to smash that young cashier's face right into the tray of pumpkin crumb donuts...or maybe in the 'Boston Scream' holiday decorated creme donuts. Well, now I just feel old...better get out some knitting and sit in a rocking chair...or find another coffee shop.
Aside from excercise, I have been using Mederma PM scar lotion at night for the last week, and light massage of virgin coconut oil on damp skin just after showering for three weeks. My nips still seem about halfway flattened in, PS said they would eventually pop out. Side sleeping no problem, but cannot stomach sleep. Lefty has a small hard and numb area on the lower portion below nip, but gradually improving. Overall healing fine. I was planning on a zumba class next week, but now I see the schedule also offers a zumba gold class for seniors, so maybe I better start there....grrrr.

Grr is right, msbobcat! Because you are one fierce WILDCAT! How bizarre to preemptively give a senior discount to someone. Eye roll....don't let it get you down. I'm inspired by you....now, take those tiny tatas to zumba, and shake it!

Small town

Well, just left a local restaurant with my daughter, and my PS was standing in the foyer in his scrubs waiting for his takeout order. Nice guy, gentleman as always, but his looking at my chest and "you look good" must have left the hostess wondering. He has hardly seen me with clothes on, standing up, (te he) and he always seems proud and happy with his results. Maybe hostess thinks I'm a cougar with this younger man looking at my ta-tas. I do like living in a small town, but one does constantly run into the same people in all places.
