Hi everyone, I am having a mini facelift on 28th September, I am very very nervous about the procedure, can anyone give me some good tips please? I am worried in case something goes wrong during the operation and also very scared of being put to sleep for a few hours, I think that the thought of being operated on makes me so frightened. I had the Upper eyelids done however I was awake during the procedure

Is a mini -lift like a lower facelift where they cut the skin and muscle SMAS? If so I just had one last week.

Hi, yes it's a lower facelift I'm having done on the 28th September, I will b on my own because my partner and family doesn't agree with it however I'm determined to get it done. How did your operation go for you? Hope your well pleased with the results

I am super happy with results! Today I get the stitches out. My PS also did an endoscopic brow lift (outer eyebrow was starting to lower). My face and neck feels really tight and I am swollen but no pain except for back since I have trouble sleeping on my back. My partner did not think I needed any work either, but he came around once he understood how much I wanted the FL and was the best caregiver in the world (well, maybe other than my mom, lol). Do you have a friend that can stay with you for a couple days? Maybe a neighbor?

Oh I forgot I just had IV Sedation, not General Anesthesia. I always get nauseous and it's worse for me with General. I was aware I was in the operating room, but so drugged up I did not care!!!

Hi, thanks for your reply...that's good to hear your happy with the results, im sure you look wonderful. My partner is worried I'm sure he will come round, my daughter is going to come down with me hoping she can get the day off work. I'm getting more nervous by the day....my goodness you did brilliant just having sedation well done for being so brave. I don't like general anesthetisa either...that's the best way to go about it sedation then u don't care or worry

Ive had a mini face lift yesterday, feeling a lot better today, my face feels tight, already I can see the difference should settle down in a few weeks. I was very nervous going to theatre however the doctors and nurses were so kind and reassured me all would be OK. I,m so looking forward to the new me.

Thank you glamourgirl12b this is my third day still got bandage round my head I feel like I'm years younger my whole face has changed, just hope the swelling goes down my upper face looks so swollen...take care to

You already look like a million bucks! Wow!

Make sure that you are keeping your head elevated and watch your salt intake.

I am actually going to charting my salt each day. There is a lot of salt in soups! Yikes. So I will be watching how much soup I have each day. I really want to try to watch it, because in the past, I have not been the best healer. But that was in the past, right???

Please make sure to show us some pics as how those scars heal. And a final before and after side by side. I am considering this in Eire and am looking for a good recommendation

Hi zemyboy, yes I'll keep u all posted on the healing process I get the stitches out next money so I put some picture up over the coming weeks. So far I'm pleased with it just the swelling of my upper face looks strange look forward seeing my face when it heals.

You look really nice and are healing. You can try silicone gel on the incision by your ear once it heals.

Congrats. You look fab!! I'm new to this site & was delighted to find a review from Ireland as most of those that I've read are really informative but from doctors in the USA! I was wondering where this doctor is based? Seems like he did a great job. Your skin looks like it's healing really well.

Hi Pollymolly, thank you I am now on day 6 post operation, I get my stitches out tomorrow, I will post some pictures once they are taken out. The doctor is based in Ballykelly Hospital just outside Limavady, N Ireland, his name is Mr K Khan....I feel good at present, my face is still swollen however, it is going down, my chin and jawline looks perfect all the lines and jowls are gone, can't wait till I can wear nice make up to show it off

Hi forage45, many thanks, I am healing well, I get the stitches out tomorrow I shall post some pictures of the healing process. Thanks for the advice, I shall get some silicone gel to use when it heals great advice
