First let me say how helpful all the reviews from everyone have been. My story is like many others, it felt like I woke up one morning around age 13 and there they were. I was teased relentlessly. Since then my breasts have continued to grow. I'm 5'2 and 130 pounds, like most women my weight has fluctuated but my breast size has always stayed the same. I have suffered from back, neck and shoulder pain for years. It is like torture shopping for bras in my size. It brings me to tears. It is always the first thing people notice and not just men.

It has been about 1 week since my consultation with the plastic surgeon. He was wonderful and says I am the perfect candidate for this procedure. So now I wait to hear if my insurance approves the procedure. I am hoping my a 36C. I will update when I find out. Thanks for listening.

I'm sure that all your years of tear shedding and pain will not be in vain.
You've done really well to see a plastic surgeon, one who is supporting you.
It'll be good to read when the surgery is approved, the reduction undertaken and your successful recovery commences and continues.
I wish you patience, perseverance and a successful outcome.

Congratulations on your decision to proceed with breast reduction surgery; this operation tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. One piece of advice: communicate your goals carefully with your plastic surgeon. You'll find many examples of this website of patients being displeased with the results of breast surgery because the main reference used during the communication process ( prior to surgery) was cup sizes. As you know, cup sizes can be variable depending on who makes the bra. In my practice, I have found the use of goal photographs and computer imaging very helpful during the communication process.
Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm 5'2 and 130lbs, too! Had my consult on 10/31 and waiting to hear back. Do you have any photos, even with clothing? Congrats on taking the first big step!!

I just posted my first before picture, wow was that hard! Best of luck to you!

It gets easier! Make sure to take lots from different angles and in different clothing or bras etc so you can compare after surgery! Even if you don't post them here, you'll want them for yourself to see the difference. I hope you hear about insurance soon.

That is great advice. Thank You.

I had my breast reduction lift in July of this year and was the best thing I have done for myself. I was a 38 F and was miserable. I still won't look at my before pics as I want to erase it from my mind. Good luck and make sure to do your homework before making Dr. appointments.

I appreciate seeing this. I'm 2 weeks post op from being a 42 F. The surgeon is pleased with healing...I have a few problem spots we are using Silvane on. I'd like to be more mobile and less swollen, but hey -- he removed 675 grams from each breast! I find that my cycle effects pain and swelling. I'm hanging on to posts like yours, because there is so much to make me confident that this will just get better with time.

I feel your pain. I have to wear Danskin bras 36-38 DD - DDD and the customize them. Do you get head aches? I do from the neck aches. I wish you well and thank you for being so brace to post!
November 16, 2016
Yes, I get frequent headaches, hopefully all that will get better after my surgery. I am still waiting to hear if I am approved.
November 23, 2016
Thanks for your willingness to share. I keep asking myself if, at 65, it is still worth it, and fear the surgery. It helps when others tell their stories and show pictures. I cannot imagine being brave enough to post a picture but many, many thanks.

It is never too late to do something that will improve your quality of life.
December 16, 2016
Truthfully, I think you look great as you are. That said, if you are experiencing back or neck pain, I understand your desire to go forward with a reduction to alleviate any pain. If you are doing it for purely body image reasons, I really do not see anything to be ashamed or concerned with. Your breasts appear to fit the frame of your body and are beautiful and well shaped just as they are. If someone has told you different, they simply are wrong and have unrealistic views. Best of luck!

Congratulations! You are making a great decision to care for yourself. I waited such a long time, wanting a reduction but being afraid. I'm one week post-op and just wish I had done it 15 years ago. I used many of the tips I read here in the reviews to prepare and for my recovery period, and it's been smooth sailing so far, so thankful for this site. I hope you'll be as happy as I've been with the results!

Such great news. I am so happy for you. Get lots of rest!

Excited for you I go in for my pre-op today scheduled for Dec 2 and I'm really nervous.
November 22, 2016
I understand being nervous, but just remember how long you have wanted this. Have faith and trust in your surgeon. I'm sure everything will go as planned. Keep me posted! I am so excited for you.

I'm scheduled for December 14. I'm so excited more than nervous. Here we go!
December 9, 2016
Yay, good for you. Just finished my preop. I absolutely love my surgeon. He spent almost 2 hours with my husband and I going over everything. I am ready!
December 9, 2016
That's awesome! He sounds excellent.

How are you doing? My surgery was yesterday afternoon, and my pain has woken me up this morning even though I just took a pill at 5 am. Shew. I'm looking forward to going back to the Dr today to remove the ace wrapping, get taped and fitted with a bra.

I really hope you're doing well!!

My surgery went really well. I am not having as much pain as I imagined. I have been taking Ibuprofen and have only used Norco twice. I am looking forward to having the drain tubes remover tomorrow and seeing them finally. Overall I am doing well.
