I just turned 37 and have been bugged by some lines that literally seemed to have popped out overnight! My area of concern was mainly my frown inbetween eyebrows & horizontal lines across mid-forhead & above eyebrows that, just in the past yr, have become more noticeable when at rest (sigh). I went to a Board certified PS who injected 35 units total (15 glabella/20 forehead). I had no major marks, redness or swelling & barely felt a thing. Interestingly, ea injection made a crackling sound (like static). I seriously heard it more than I felt it. I only have one tiny pin dot bruise just under my hairline. I've had a slight headache since the procedure, which was exactly 24-hrs ago. But, I am prone to headaches & suffer from migraines. (Am hoping this procedure will help address that issue as well). The thing most alarming about the procedure was this blue, topical gel that was applied about 20 min ahead of time. No one told me it would not only numb the area being treated but potentially move down my ENTIRE face! Hence, my upper cheeks became very tingly/flushed & the sensation worked its way down my entire face throughout my jawline and lips until it dicipated. Kind of like a dental block wearing off. Of course I was freaked and called the office after returning home, as I thought the botox was somehow affecting my entire face! I guess some peeps are more sensitive to the numbing agent than others once it seeps into your skin, so beware! As far as the results so far I guess it's too soon to fully evaluate, but I don't look/feel much different. I still have all my movement/lines and a slight headache, due in part to stress from this whole ordeal I'm sure! I guess I was expecting a more dramatic/quick transformation, as some of the photos posted here reveal quite a change even in 24-hrs. We will see...

Your experience with the numbing gel would freak me out too!

Yeah, I would post a pic of how flushed my face looked (I did take one!), but I don't want my whole face posted on here lol. It looked as though I drank a whole bottle of wine.

Oh wow!  Well you can always try and crop it but no worries if that doesn't sound comfortable.

48-hrs Later...

It's now been a full two days since my treatment and I'm feeling really discouraged. I still have total movement/lines in frown area that don't even look softened much from before. And all of my mid-forehead lines are still present. However, I have a smooth band across my upper forehead where I didn't care to be treated. Only when I raised my eyebrows really hard you could see these upper lines. Now when I raise really hard this area is smooth. However, all of the mid lines that were deep when raised & becoming present at rest have not diminished at all! It seems as though. It seems as though my treatment was done in reverse of my objective & feels like a waste of money, unless things improve quick. Perhaps I'm still being impatient, but at two full days out It seems I should at least be seeing some change. I have a migraine to boot. Wouldn't mind the pain so much if it was due to a better result. For now am very annoyed..

Hang in there!  If you read my botox review it took 5+ days to see the full effect.  I'm sorry you aren't happy with the mid-forehead injections so far.  After a couple of weeks if you still aren't happy you should go back and talk to them.  The first time you get botox it is a bit of a shot in the dark because you just don't know what to expect- but now that you've tried it you can give your injector feedback and tell them what you do like and what you don't like so they can modify where they inject you.  And if you don't feel they are listening then find another injector who will.  Keep us posted!

Thanks for the encouragement. Perhaps I'm being hasty. Patience has never been my best attribute lol. So, from in-between my eyebrows up through the middle/top of my forehead is definitely smoothing out, but I still have the mid lines above my eyebrows on either side. If you look at your "day 1 surprised" photo, my lines look about like that when I scrunch, except run more medially in toward the beginning of my eyebrow and out laterally across the entire length of my eyebrow (if that makes sense). Anyhow, being 3+ days out now I'm wondering if these lines are really going to dissipate. If I'm seeing all the surrounding area smoothing it seems this area should be as well. I'm still hopeful that (as my PS said) I have really "active" muscles and it's just taking time for this area to relax or something. Otherwise I'm definitely going back, because it's not a good look! I almost think the lines are more noticeable now, being completely smooth everywhere else. I am also really animated when I talk, scrunch up my face, raise one eyebrow etc. and now even just opening my eyes real wide you can instantly see these lines. I feel even more self-conscious now talking to people, focusing on not animating too much because It just looks crazy. I'd rather have the "natural" look back of the lines running across my entire head than what I'm (potentially) left with. I know everyone's anatomy/muscles are different, etc but I told my injector several times that this was my biggest area of concern (and not so much the very top of the forehead), and it just seems as though she didn't place the units in the right places for my objective (or, again, I'm being too hasty).

Day 3 and 1/2 update

HealthFanatic7
I'm now 3 1/2 days out and my glabella lines are still there when I scowl, however they are in a different formation now, so something is happening. The entire top of my forehead down through the middle inbetween the eyebrows is also pretty smooth. But I still have the crazy annoying lines above the lateral aspects of my eyebrows at the mid forehead. I feel they are even more noticeable now, with the surrounding area smoothing out. I'd rather have my old scrunch lines back, running the entire length of my forehead then be left with these crazy outer eyebrow lines. It looks very unnatural and makes me self-conscious to even talk to people because as soon as I animate even a tad bit you can majorly see them. I know it's probably something I'm more fixated on than anyone will really notice. But, the whole purpose of having this procedure done was to soften this specific area and when you don't get what you pay for it's kinda frustrating. Continuing to wait and see what happens though...would like to think 35 units would make more of a difference!
