4 weeks Before & After Photos

I decided to have a BA & BL with Dr Ellis Choy...

I decided to have a BA & BL with Dr Ellis Choy so that he could remove and/or repair breast deformities/injuries I sustained after having taken the unfortunate step of going to a rogue “cosmetic” surgeon for a BA earlier in the year after a recommendation from a friend. These deformities/injuries were, I believe caused by a carelessly cut breast pocket causing which distorted the breast. I was also ill-advised about not needing a lift, consequently, the sub-glandular implant could be felt easily and moved too freely. The breast sagged quickly at 6 weeks post operatively and a double bubble deformity also formed. I was desperately wishing for my natural breasts back. I ignored my intuition and the many, many red flags displayed by this ‘cosmetic ‘ surgeon and the outcome for me was a disaster, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially.
In this fragile and highly stressed state, I decided to spend further money getting consultations from 5 respected board certified plastic surgeons and I vowed to allow my intuition to guide the choice of the right surgeon for me.
Before having a consultation with Dr Choy, I had consultations with two board certified plastic surgeons who have very big profiles on realself.com. Both of these consultations focussed on the need to “dob-in” the rogue cosmetic surgeon that I had been to and, in one of the consultations focussed (covertly) on how silly I was (which is true, but I was not paying this doctor to have him pass judgment on me). So I walked away from both of these consultations with a resounding ‘no’ intuitively and still very distraught.
Dr Ellis Choy was the next plastic surgeon that I saw for a consultation. I wanted to see Dr Choy after seeing his website which displays unaltered photos of BA and BLs. What I liked about these images is his style of creating breast slope and lovely proportions, fullness, symmetry and perfectly thin incision lines (as thin as I have ever seen after trawling through real self and other forums for a long time).
I visited Dr Choy’s Zilver Lining practice in Northbridge. As soon as I walked in to the reception area I found it very calming, the lighting was perfect and it was pristine, elegant yet comfortable. The staff were warm and attentive and answered all my questions with great care.
I saw Dr Choy in consultation with his nurse Siobhan and both of them were solely focussed on a positive outcome for me. They did not, for one second, pass any judgment or comment on my previous unfortunate surgery. I was very impressed by their graciousness. Dr Choy listened to and answered all my questions without making me feel that I was taking up his time (even though he is always booked with patients back to back ). Dr Choy explained in detail and with enthusiasm what he could do for me and I left the consultation not only with a good idea of what I was going to look like but also, with the sense that Dr Choy and his staff fully understood my predicament, they were on my side and were going to do the best they could do for me (and I was right, they did).
I obtained a date for surgery with Dr Choy and prepaid the surgery and anaesthesia for breast augmentation and lift and Dr Choy also mentioned that he would do a partial reverse tummy tuck to deal with skin laxity and create a more youthful appearance (which he did). But just a couple of days before surgery, I got cold feet and was in an anxious frame of mind due to my previous experience and I wrote Dr Choy a long winded email asking him not to do a breast lift but to just insert bigger implants because I really didn’t want any scars and that I’d be happy to leave the financial arrangements as they were. Upon hearing this, Dr Choy telephoned me and talked me through the dilemma, reminding me that to do the same thing and expecting a different outcome is not a good idea, to say the least. He said, it would be very easy for him to just insert bigger implants but they would not last very long and I would need a lift very soon thereafter. He reminded me that a lift with implants and the partial reverse TT would provide a quality outcome, a predictable outcome and a safe outcome. He was actually making more work for himself by talking me through this but when I finished speaking with him I felt more than 100% confident that I had chosen the right surgeon. The next day, I also wrote a rather detailed essay to Dr Choy using patient pictures from his website gallery pointing out which aspects of these images I liked and did not like. He acknowledged these requests and assured me that he knew what I liked and did not like. I purposely did not give precise instructions as to size of implant or any other strict instructions as I didn ‘t want to interfere with the numerous artistic judgment calls that I imagine would have to be made by a surgeon during an operation.
I had surgery at the North Shore Specialist Day Hospital and everything went perfectly according to schedule. The nurses and doctors were attentive and caring and I came through a complex 3 hour operation intact with new lifted, symmetrical, smooth breasts and lifted upper abdomen. I returned home that evening and both Dr Choy and his nurse Siobhan called me frequently to see how I was progressing before coming into Zilver Lining, Northbridge, for my official follow up appointments.
It has been 4 weeks since the operation. I have healed rapidly and breasts are settling into a really lovely elegant shape. I am still tender and a bit swollen and scars are still healing. So far, everything that Dr Choy promised, he has delivered. The overall impact is that through Dr Choy’s skill as surgeon and artist, he has retrieved me from a dangerous situation and into a safe and pleasurable one. And importantly, from my waist to my shoulders I feel like I look 16 years old (I am actually 56!).
