11 days later and I have some flare up of my acne but I won't ever again get a Neostrata Peel. It was a waste of money but it isn't the Nurse's fault because she told me the Vivité would be stronger & Neostrata was a different chemical structure... but the peel was a waste for me. It may work for others or my skin was used to the 70% Gycolic Acid and 30% was mild. I was under the impression that there were going to be a lower and higher strengths...

thank you for update, did these peels help with acne redness or scarring?

Yes but my skin peels after a week.... it’s similar to having dry skin after going tanning for the first time.

I liked the Vivite peel too for acne. I was alternating doing it one month and then micro the next and it was keeping my face really clear. I might buy it online and do it myself. I had a Vi peel last week and haven't been that impressed so far for the price. Have you tried to find the Vivite peel anywhere else in Boston? I live here too and where I used to go went out of business (American Laser Skincare).

I was going to Dr. O’Brien’s Office until I bought it and did it at home. I’d recommend going to his office in Winchester. He can help you with medical advice and he is really nice. His prices are very reasonable.

Hi, side note. When you break out, maybe try not having any dairy products and see if that helps? I'm not a doctor or a dairy farmer, just passing on what I heard. Search for "acne dairy" on You Tube if you like, there are people who have posted videos. Won't clear up your scars but you might stop breaking out. I've never heard this from a dermatologist, just multiple people mentioning they stopped breaking out after cutting dairy out of their diet.

Thanks! I will try it because my face sometimes gets oily in the summer. I noticed that certain medicine can make my skin more oily. I’m off the one that made it bad but it still gets oily sometimes.

Hi, thanks for your comment! It helped out tremendously! I continue to use dairy free products in my diet and sometimes I have dairy. It definitely helps!!

Neostrata Gycolic Peel

Here is a picture from right after the peel. My skin wasn't red and it didn't sting. A day or two later my skin felt tighter but and my acne is not flared. I do it to clear my pores. I am sorry about the way I edited my eyes... for privacy. The peel was $100.00 & I think because it requires 1 extra step of spraying the face as opposed to Vivité I'd had to wash it off my face. I'd rather Vivité but it's not being sold anymore. Neostrata was a waste of money.

Neostrata Chemical Peel for Acne

I have had about 4 Chemical Peels done with Vivité. The nurse said that they aren't making it anymore & today I had the Neostrata Peel. I think she said it was 30% Gycolic Acid & the Vivité was 70%. But she also said that there were two strengths before and I don't know if they bought both types as I am not familiar with peels. It didn't tingle, just a tiny bit at the base of my face, the Vivité tingled more when I had that type of peel. The Neostrata does involve spraying a neutralizer on the face but, unlike Vivité where I'd wash my face with water. I used SPF 80.

Day 2. No peeling. I thought this was supposed to be a stronger peel, given the price. I'll see what happens today and tomorrow.
Overall since peels my acne and pores are not as clogged
