I decided to get a gycolic peel because I tried...
WORTH IT$75
I decided to get a gycolic peel because I tried everything to get my skin from breaking out and I didn't want scarring. I have been on Accutane 2x, had all types of facials...from basic facials to "Indian Herbal Facials" & some home masks. I was going to have it done at the local esthetics school but it was cheaper at the Dermatologist's Office. The 1st time it was done she put it on for 3 to 4 mins. It was June so I had to make sure I wore sunscreen for a week and the night when I went out at night if sun was out. I was amazed at how clean my pours were from one peel. I had it done a month later, skipped August and September and had another Oct. 4, 2014. The last 2 times she left it on for 5 mins & my skin tolerated it. I have olive skin and I never "burned" like she said I could have but I could feel the sun on my face at 7pm on a summer's night... it did feel stronger & I was glad I did wear Spf 85 as told. I thought having a chemical peel would have been more invasive with down time but there was no down time. It is October now and I did skip August and September (personal reasons and I wanted to go in the sun).
Cons:
*It isn't a facial, (or at least where I go), she cleans your face and the process takes about 8 minutes.
*I have olive skin so the sun wasn't a con but be careful if you are in a warmer climate, are in the sun a lot or are closer to the Equator!
*Cost is going up to $100 because product is being discontinued.
*After cost goes up, the new product will have a low & high strength. I prefer the high strength because I will get the worth of my money & I don't care about having peeling or down time. with the acne I have had, I will try anything.
*You could feel some tingling. Just tell the person doing it if you are too uncomfortable. Water will stop it.
Pros:
*No down time
*Cost isn't that bad.
*No face wash or anything needed to prep before your appointment.
*It is quick.
I wish it got rid of wrinkles but Botox fixes those problems.

I am breaking out now!
I had it done Oct. 4, 2014 & it is Oct. 15, 2014 and I am breaking out again. I feel like this time I broke out more and it could be due to certain times of the month, I am not sure because it isn't "that time." My face broke out a few days after I had the peel and thought it was due to not feeling well and not taking care of my skin but I did.... so hopefully when I go back at the end of the month it'll get better than my face is now. Just when I got a compliment on my face... I broke out...

Hi!
I see that you have been on accutane twice. I was just wondering how long you waited before having the peel?
I know you should wait at least 6 months but I think a year might be more sensible.
I just wondered how long other people wait.
I have clogged pores, open pores and a couple of shallow scars. So not feeling too attractive right now! ;-)

Hi...I was on Accutane
over 10 years ago (2x within 5 or so years apart). I am having another peel next week and I guess they are using a different product since the product they used isn't being sold anymore. There will be a low and higher strength; the low will have no recovery time, (I am told) & the higher strength a couple days but should not be anything too noticeable. I am sorry for the grammar mistakes as my phone is acting weird! To unclog your pores
try VIVO PER LEI DEEP Sea Minerals Facial Peeling. It love it..Google it for way better prices than the mall! I will post again..sorry my phone is acting so weird and taking me to the beginning of my reply.

Thanks for the reply! I have also been on accutane twice and it's so depressing when you feel you have tried everything. I will google the peel thanks. I'm in the UK but should be able to get it.
I have only been off accutane a couple of months so will have to wait. I don't have inflammed acne anymore but my face is a mess! So sad :-(

Try VIVO PER LEI exfoliation. .. you can buy it on Amazon. It is great and mild... a dead sea product.

Also
... don't mess with your skin while on Accutane. It makes your skin very sensitive and could cause permanent damage to it.

Neostrata Chemical Peel for Acne
Do!ne on Dec. 15, 2014
I have had about 4 Chemical Peels done with Vivité. The nurse said that they aren't making it anymore & today I had the Neostrata Peel. I think she said it was 30% Gycolic Acid & the Vivité was 70%. But she also said that there were two strengths before and I don't know if they bought both types as I am not familiar with peels. It didn't tingle, just a tiny bit at the base of my face, the Vivité tingled more when I had that type of peel. The Neostrata does involve spraying a neutralizer on the face but, unlike Vivité where I'd wash my face with water. I used SPF 80.
Day 2. No peeling. I thought this was supposed to be a stronger peel, given the price. I'll see what happens today and tomorrow.
Overall since peels my acne and pores are not as clogged
