Last year, I had a face lift and brow lift. Dr....

Last year, I had a face lift and brow lift. Dr. Mirabile had done a breast implant replacement for me nearly 10 years ago and I was very happy with the results. Also, he did a friend's facelift around the same time, and she looked amazing. I felt confident in trusting him to do the facelift. I flew back and forth from Florida several times, even once buying a last minute ticket for an additional flight because his staff forgot to tell me about a second appointment to get the back of the head back staples out.

For a short while after the surgery, everything looked great, but as the swelling and initial tightening started to wear off, I began to notice more and more sagging of my cheeks and jowls. Dr. Mirabile always assured me that everything was great. I did look marginally better but not great, so after my last visit with him in April and no luck in getting him to listen to my concerns, to get some other opinions. I'd made up my mind that I would talk to a couple of other plastic surgeons, and if they shared Dr. Mirabile's opinion, then I would live with whatever results I had. I talked with 4 plastic surgeons - 3 board certified, one experienced microsurgeon who was in the process of his plastic surgery certification. Every one of them told me that my facelift results were sub-par, that my stitches were done very roughly esp. in front of my ears, and that a lot more tightening could have been achieved. We had discussed what may happen if the desired results were not achieved with the first surgery. It is a standard practice among plastic surgeons that if further surgery is needed to enhance the results of the first procedure, the surgeon does not charge a fee and the patient just pays for the anesthesia. I was absolutely willing to do that. Dr. Mirabile told me that he never needed to do a revision.

He is a bit arrogant, but I've had such good results from my precious procedure that I trusted him and I did not think that it would be an issue. Well, the surgeon who eventually did my second surgery told me after I woke up from anesthesia that he took so much skin that it was as if I'd never had a facelift. Now I finally am starting to look the way I expected to look. I should not have had to pay someone else to do this when it was Dr. Mirabile's responsibility to finish the job he was paid to do.
