There's not much new to report. I'm feeling much...
WORTH IT$6,515
There's not much new to report. I'm feeling much less sore and I'm doing normal activities except for lifting heavy objects. I am wearing compression garments and my binder for the next couple of weeks. I have been walking more and I get really winded trying to power walk. I'm still swollen. Some days are better than others. All of the tape has come off of my incision and I keep a shirt on under my binder to protect my skin. I thought I was walking upright until I went to the mall. I looked at myself in the mirror and my posture is terrible. I tried standing straighter but I feel a slight tightness directly below my breasts where my muscles were pulled together. Hopefully, this will improve with time. Oh, I talked to one of my sisters and we have a similar build. I was telling her the size of my clothing at New York and Company and she told me that she wears a larger size than I do although she weighs less than I do. I was surprised to hear that but I'm happy about what I've accomplished so far. I still don't have a weight goal. At this point, it doesn't seem to matter much. I just have an idea of what I want to look like so I'll shoot for that. Thank you awesome ladies for checking in with me and I appreciate all of your comments. Happy healing to all of you!

Did I say I was going to do cardio? There is no...
Did I say I was going to do cardio? There is no way that is going to happen. I went outside today thinking that I would run a mile and got slapped in the face with reality. I started my jog and as soon as my foot hit the ground I was reminded that I had surgery 2 weeks ago. I ended up walking 4 miles and I laughed to myself the whole walk thinking about how foolish the idea of jogging was at this point. I'll stick to walking for now. I did go shopping and was very happy to learn that I now wear a size 10 in pants and a small in shirts. I have never been this small in my entire adult life so imagine the delight when a medium shirt was too big and I had to get a small shirt instead. Woo hoo!
So my tummy is still swollen but the swelling has gone down a lot. I love the way I look in the morning and my husband loves the way I look any time of day. He was helping me pick out clothes and was very excited about how I looked in them. My belly button freaks me out a little bit but I know it will get better in time. I do notice other parts of me that I would like to improve but I'm trying not to go there. Anyway, that's all for now. Happy healing!

Congrats on the weight loss....You must be tight with lots of muscles because you don'y look like 179lbs. We are almost the same height and 184 is my surgery goal weight. You are an inspiration to keep going!!!

June 17, 2012
Thank you for that. That means so much to me. Not everyone knows how hard it is to lose weight especially when you have a lot to lose. If you ever want to whine or celebrate working toward your goal, I'm here.

I'm glad you realized it before you did some injuries/damage! Relax you'l get there not to much to soon! I've been getting in as much running as possible before I go in for surgery! I also have been working out with P90X for the past year and a half. I kicked it up last night and my gluts legs and abs are so sore I can hardly move. But that's good you know you did it right if your left sore! LOL!

June 25, 2012
Oh yeah , I know all about that P90X! I'm trying to take it easy, I'm just worried about weight gain is all. It really scares me.

Wow a size small in shirts? That's awesome. I haven't really explored new clothing yet but my pre op pants are too big. They sag right off me. I haven't started exercising yet but I really need to start walking because I don't want to gain any weight. Glad you feel better.

I worry about gaining weight too which is why I'm trying to workout but I'm listening to my body and I'm taking it easy. You know, I realize that I bought my pants bigger before to cover my tummy. Now, I don't have to do that and it feels good.

Your results look so awesome & small shirts are just so fantastic! I am so, so excited to see that you are in a size 10! My goal is to be in a size 8-10, too! Since we have similar "before" stats, I can't thank you enough for posting your journey on here! Your story has helped me not be so nervous about deciding to do this. I know that my results won't be exactly the same or anything (I have a lot of stretch marks that go above my belly button), but I am just so happy to follow your story & have that hope that I will have similar results! Thank you so much & happy healing!

Thank you UltraJen! I want to help so much. We all peruse these stories and try to find someone who is similar to us so we can get an idea of what our results will look like so I'm glad I can be one of those people for you. I have no doubt that you will reach your goal and as far as the stretchmarks, I have plenty above and below my belly button. Those, I can deal with as long as the extra skin is gone. Happy healing to you. I'll be following your story.

Your results really look amazing! So happy for you!

June 25, 2012
Oh, thank you so much. You don't know what that means to hear that. I'm swollen everyday and really have no idea what my real results will look like so I need to hear that.

I got my drain removed! I'm so glad and I feel so much better. It's so much easier to move around without having to worry that I'll pull that darn drain. I feel amazing. My doctor told me that it's okay for me to do cardio! Woo hoo! I'm gonna see what I can do. I won't do anything that makes me uncomfortable but I need to get these hips and thighs slimmed down. I'm still swollen but it's not as bad as it was. I have to wear my binder for another couple of weeks which is fine with me. I'm so glad I did this.

GIRLFRIEND! You look so awesome!!
And cardio? Is you craaaazy? Already? There is no way I could do that yet lol Maybe another week or two, but I'm too stiff and tight. I feel like I just put on my belly fresh out of the dryer ALL the time lol
Seriously, you look great - go get'em girl :)

LMAO! I haven't done anything yet. I think I'll start with a walk and work my way up to jogging.

LOVING your results!!! I'm with daniela! Cardio? Wow! I can't even imagine trying to do those fast walking type exercises! I also feel so tight and am walking like the 2nd to the last picture of those monkey to human evolution charts!

Thank you daniela! Apparently, there is no way that I can do any cardio either. I tried it and I'm way too sore for that. I did walk 4 miles today though and I feel pretty good about that.

June 17, 2012
Yeah, the cardio didn't happen and it won't for a while. I tried it and I think I might have been nuts to think I could do it. LMAO at the evolution thing!
