Nipple Reduction Worth It!!!

WORTH IT
I explanted breast implants in August of 2019. I was left with very little breast tissue (which I expected), but what I was not prepared for was droopy nipples. My skin gradually tightened, but the nipples did not change. They were elongated and droopy from almost 2 years of nursing babies, while I had implants. My breasts are currently not a "real" bra size, so the only things that really fit are compressive sports bras. I had substantial pain wearing sports bras for any length of time. I couldn't even tolerate wearing a bikini top for more than an hour before I needed to remove it (not fun for a vacation by the pool all day, with friends.) In addition to pain, the skin beneath my nipples would become moist and white (like your fingers do when you've been in water for too long.) I consulted with Dr. Wright about nipple revision options. He spent a lot of time listening to my concerns and current issues, then presented several different options. I was also concerned of scarring, as I tend to scar easily and heal slowly. I was not worried about the size of my areolas, so we decided on nipple reduction only, with incisions only on the upper portion of the nipples. The procedure was performed in a surgical center, with local anesthetic only. I was able to communicate with Dr. Wright, the nurse, and surgical techs, all who were AMAZING, the entire time. After the first side was complete, they sat me up and let me check out the outcome. I'm pretty sure I smiled the biggest smile I've had related to my breasts, in at least the past several years! I'm glad I saw the outcome of the first side during the surgery, because by the time I got home, everything was swollen, and didn't look as nice as my initial view. After 2 weeks, the swelling in my breasts returned to normal, and the incisions were completely healed. I only took pain meds for 2 days after the procedure, gradually tapering off as I could tolerate. Sutures gradually fell of throughout the course of 3 weeks. My post-op consults were both by phone, with the option to come in if I had any concerns. I live several hours away, and with COVID19, I opted to do phone follow-ups. Everything healed beautifully, and I am now able to tolerate being in a sports bra ALL day, without worries of moisture or skin breakdown! It has been a life-changer for me!!!!

I'm really struggling with this site to get my review up, so this portion is totally unnecessary. I'm just attempting to get to 200 characters so it will post. Review still stands from what I typed yesterday.

How much did it cost? Also why did you take them out

I was having a ton of symptoms that no doctors could diagnose...I was missing out of family activities, just wanted to sleep all the time (I could have a cup of coffee, an energy drink, and turn around & fall asleep)...plus, my implants were rippling so bad and I had a constant dull, achy pain in my breasts, along with sharp shooting pains. I was considering replacing them to try to fix how they looked, but a friend told me about breast implant illness, and I could check over 30 boxes of symptoms! My life and ability to participate and engage with family and friends has improved drastically. I need to post another review on the explant surgery, in which I also highly recommend Dr Wright!!! I don’t remember how much the surgery was for explant- somewhere in the 6-7k range, I believe. He included the nipple revision as part of the price, so I only paid hospital fees at the time of nipple revision.
