Nipple reduction doesn’t look right - afraid they will never heal

My reduction resulted in the slicing of the nipple and no sutures. I bled for days and was brought back in with nurse and Dr cauterizing both nipples again no sutures. I am afraid they will never heal and they look very scary literally like they were just sliced sideways and that’s it. Is this normal?
