I have been reading all your posts for weeks now. They are so genuine and helpful. I started my journey in January and my surgery is scheduled for June 11. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. My story is pretty much the same as all yours. The 50 cent version is I am just too big and don't want to be like this any more. I think the last bra I bought was a 40G. I didn't know the alphabet went up that high. My doctor estimates that he'll remove 900mg per breast. Wow! Fine with me. Boobs-be-gone. I was approved by my insurance company, have been to my GP for approval, had my pre-op testing today, and go see my PS Tuesday for the final pre-surgery appointment. I am mad at myself for not doing it sooner. I am 50 years old, the kids are leaving the nest, and I'm ready to not be weighed down by my boobs and the problems they have brought me. I have read all your stories, comments, questions, and suggestions and have gotten lots of good information from each and every one of you. Thank you all! I will keep you updated as my journey continues.

Thanks Glittergal!! You look fabulous. We seem to be of similar size and age, so it makes me much more excited than I already was! I have 9 days to go and it can't come fast enough. I see the doc in two days for my final visit before surgery. I'm armed with all the questions I've gotten from this site, so I'm psyched! Stay tuned....

I was told that the insurance I have BC/BS that they can only take 500 or 550g no more no less. I am hoping that I wont be disappointed with my size when they complete the surgery because i would love to go to a c cup which is what my sister did I think that is a perfect size not to big not to small. Does anyone else have BC/BS and their dr told them that?????????

Hi sherrijung! I too have BCBS, and the doc only told me that a minimum had to come off each breast for insurance to be considered. I never heard the 500-550 rule. Good luck to you! Our journeys continue.

I'll have to get some pictures so I can post before and after, but I've always hated getting my picture taken. I'll work on it. Stay tuned...
