Like everyone else i have always had large breasts...

WORTH IT$2,000
Like everyone else i have always had large breasts. A full C in high school and after children i was up to a 40 H. Even when thinner I can't get lower than a DD. It's difficult carrying all of this around. My surgical date is October 24th, can't wait to shop for bras in a regular store. Recommendations on post surgical bras and how to calculate what size to get?

Good luck, what size are you going down to?

Hoping for a full C

I am post op 3 weeks. Second reduction in 20 years. Mine grew back after I had my son. I didn't get a surgical bra. I got a soft platex bras (no inderwire for 6 months). I am now down between 38 d/c. Get about 3 or more. You will have daily staining for a few weeks. I got mine at Kohls and Target.. No more $80 bras, thank you!

Congratulations on getting the surgery! My surgery is 10/10/16. I ordered the Yianna adjustable shoulder strap post- surgical bra from Amazon, based on recommendations from others on this site. It was $18.99, I bought the large. It adjusts many ways, and I can tell it will work well for me (currently a 38 F). Also bought the Playtex women's play zip zip hooray wirefree racer back sports bra (also highly recommended), $19.90 on Amazon. I ordered medium, hard to imagine my breasts fitting into it, though I am hoping for a c cup. I also ordered a wedge for staying elevated the first week or so. Good luck with your surgery!

Ha ha! I know. I can't imagine it. All my tops are l or xl to accommodate boobs. They want me to wear a front- close shirt to the surgery. ???? I don't buy those, there is always a gap in the chest area!

Same here...I have a few old ones xxl from Old navy. Had to go bigger so they wouldn't gape.

Well, our shirts...and lives...will be different soon. Visualize healthy, perky breasts, and take good care of yourself! We've got this!

Exciting and scary all at the same time. But the thought of buying smaller sizes keeps me going. Can't wait to see your after pics

I got my first regular bras from target and Walmart two days ago. I will post an update about them, it was exciting lol. Still don't know my size in terms of band and cup size but I fit perfectly into their XL

Congrats on your first regular store bought bra

Hi ! Your surgery cost is only $2000 wow! Any insurance coverage?
October 10, 2016
I have to pay that up front because my insurance won't pre-certify. It should be all covered since I've met my out of pocket max for the year.

Thinking of you- prayers for a great surgery and excellent results! Today will be a memory soon- think of happier days and pretty clothes to come!
October 23, 2016
Best wishes for a smooth surgery! You will be so happy when it's done. I'm on day 5 and my neck pain is gone!
October 23, 2016
Thanks! How's it going on the other side?
October 24, 2016
Today back pain is gone but I'm super tired and very swollen. I called the PS and they said it's to be expected. Icing and Advil to reduce swelling. Still glad I did it!
October 25, 2016
Great
October 25, 2016
My ps said no ice. Did it help?
October 25, 2016
I'm breathing better....so that's awesome
October 25, 2016
I don't think the ice has changed the amount of swelling, but helps with the discomfort. It feels like when your milk comes in and you think you are going to burst. Trying to lay low, maybe too much movement?
October 23, 2016
I so wish you luck!!! I've wanted a BR since 1981. I'm going to try again. I'm 65. You go girl! I'm waiting for Insurance to get back to my PS. He thinks I'm good. We will see. In 2007, insurance was crappy & turned me down.
October 23, 2016
Thanks! My insurance company wouldn't pre authorize but i really need this so I went ahead. He says I have enough so they'll probably take care of it. Good luck with everything!
October 24, 2016
Good Luck!! Please keep us informed on how you're doing when you feel up to it.
October 24, 2016
Thanks.... i will let you know how it goes
October 24, 2016
Wishing you all the best....hope everything goes perfectly!

Thanks! Hope so

So happy for you to be on the other side. Hopefully that was the worst it will be. I couldn't believe how much better I felt by day 2-3. Rest, let others do for you.
October 25, 2016
Thanks... i hope it'll be better by tomorrow. Hurts to move. My post op appointment is tomorrow. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Good Job! so happy your on this side with some of the rest of us. I'm on day 6 it does get better, but rest is the biggest advice and that is the truth you really, really need it right now, take care.
October 26, 2016
Thanks! Hoping tomorrow will be a better day. Hugs
October 26, 2016
It gets better each day....so far been one week better and better. Showered for my first time today ! Yipee, felt so good. Keep resting !
October 26, 2016
Glad you're doing so well
October 27, 2016
Doing ok, I have quite a bit of swelling do you ? My PS said no ice packs ! Not sure what to do it's not unbearable yet but very uncomfortable.
October 27, 2016
I have a good amount of swelling too. He said no ice. You can accidentally cause some of the skin to become necrotic. I iced once when it was unbearable. I keep feeling water run down my side in back.
October 26, 2016
I just started following you. Soo happy for you. I have not had this surgery but would like to. You're on the good side now....hang in there...you are brave!!
October 26, 2016
Thanks so much for your response
