I have been viewing this site for a few months. Reading other's experiences and seeing their results have helped me to make this difficult decision. I had a consult in June and will be having my surgery in November. I'm 48 years old. I have had 3 c-sections for 3 kids ages 24, 23, and 19 so I have the apron and the belly fat that is always there no matter what. Five years ago I had a hysterectomy and wanted a tummy tuck with that but my gyn would not agree. So, 5 years later I will finally get a flat stomach. I am very excited about the tt. I am also thinking about liposuction to my outer thighs. I just can't decide if it would be worth the extra pain and money. My ps did not recommend inner thigh lipo for me because of the skin elasticity. So I will decide about the thighs within the next month. I have learned a great deal from this forum.

Thanks Kimmers, I have learned so much from this site and so glad that I found it. I am excited about my tt and now it is more real to me since I paid a deposit and scheduled the surgery yesterday. I can't wait.

Good Morning Wichita1637, if you want to read a funny story, go read my latest update. Our dates are pretty close to each other, and I am getting excited also. Are you renting a hospital bed, I have not decided yet on that. I would like to avoid the additional expense, but thinking if it will make a world of difference I will do it.

Good morning Nanny, I have considered the hospital bed, but those mattresses are pretty thin so I think I will get a wedge pillow instead. I dont want any unnecessary expenses either. I will get a toliet raiser I think one with arms, my mother-in-law had one for her knee surgery and my mom has just a riser so I think one with arms will be better to help with standing. I read your story and it made me laugh. My husband is supportive, he is sort of tired of hearing about tt and my obsession with them but he has scheduled to be off work for several days to take care of me and has started to give me instructions about what I should do for the time that he will not be here. He actually lives in St Louis and I am in Wichita. He changed jobs and I have not moved there yet for a number of reasons. So it will be just me after. I have saved vacation time at work 4 weeks worth so hopefully that will be enough to get me back to 12 hour night shifts. I'm a respiratory therapist so I walk alot in my job.

I have also decided on the toilet raiser and shower seat. I think I will take my chances with the bed, lol...I hope you recover fast, I am guessing you are mostly on your feet for work. I am a stay at home mom, and my husband can rearrange his schedule to stay with me for a few days. I also have two adult children that can help. Soooo excited WIchita1637, I cannot wait until we are both over the surgery and can gloat on how happy we are with our new FLAT bellys, lmao

I cant wait either, your surgery is a couple of days before mine so I will follow you those 1st 2 days closely if you feel like posting. I need to take the awful before pictures but I hate to do that, I have to be brave like everyone else here. I do walk alot most nights for work but on other nights I have a lot of down time and sitting will probably not be that comfortable either. So I guess I will stand up alot. lol.

Howdy! Nice to see another Kansas girl. I'm in the same boat, got the tummy overhang I can't get rid of. I go a couple weeks ahead of you, but I'm throwing in a BA also. Good riddence to loose skin and fat cells! My nerves are starting to set it, but every time I look at my tummy I get reassurance. So hoping that all the fears and the pain are going to be worth it!!

Hello, Good luck on your surgery. I think it will be worth the pain and fears. This will be my 3rd time under general anesthesia and I've never had any problems with it before. My biggest fear is not being able to return to work at 4 weeks post-op. I too some times look at my stomach and think oh it's not so bad but then I face reality, who am I kidding.
