First post op appt
I'm 28 with multiple autoimmune diseases and large...
I met Dr Chong, fell in love, and actually didn't even do a consult with any other surgeons. i just had the surgery yesterday and the entire office made it so relaxing and everyone helped me so incredibly much. I have a needle phobia, and I had a bit of a melt down once I got into the OR. The nurses stayed at my legs, and Dr Chong HERSELF held my hand and stroked my hair and talked to me about Hawaii the entire time until I was under. The anesthesiologist was very gentle and kind to me as well. They were excellent at trying to help me relax and find some comfort because going under. I've heard so many horror stories of the opposite and the last thing peopls remember is being so upset and none of the staff having any bedside manners.
I woke up fairly quickly, had zero nausea, and zero pain. I must have scratched my eye while coming out of my deep sleep because that's the only discomfort I had for many many hours. I made it to my hotel (what better way to recovery than a staycation!!) and got into my pillow fort style bed my mom made up for me and rested all night. I had ZERO pain at all until about 10:30pm, I had slight pain on the right underside incision due to the fact that I'm very wiggly from discomfort from being on my back. I'm having tiny muscle spasms in my breasts that are painless, and that's about it to be honest!! So far nothing like I expected!!! However, I will update how I'm feeling today once I get things going and go for my first post op appt to have the bandages changes and the incisions cleaned. ???? Ouch!
Provider Review
Dr Lavinia Chong was the most amazing doctor I've ever seen. I've spent that last 5 years in and out of offices for various autoimmune and chronic pain conditions, and have never witnessed the type of incredible bedside manner Dr Chong has. Her entire staff is amazing, caring, kind, and truly seems to want to be there for you. Nancy at the front desk even asked me to call her with an update after my blood test because she was worried about my needle phobia. Dr Chong went over everything with me so many times, never once got frustated with me, was so kind to me when I started getting scared. She was so honest when we talked about my problem and potential sizes and what she thought would look best. When I got to the OR I started to cry and panick a bit, and everyone in the room was so good to me. The nurses were at my legs, and Dr Chong PERONALLY held my hand, stroked my hair, and talked to me about a Hawaiian vacation after healing to show my perky new babies off!! She knew the needle phobia was getting the best of me and made it her personal mission go make me feel more comfortable. I can only speak for my friends who have had augmentations, and none of them had stories to tell about doctors having bedside manners like THAT. I think it's very rare, and probably especially rare in a plastic surgery setting. I have one friend looking to do implant removal and my sister wants implants and I've already told them both to stop looking. Because Dr Chong is so absolutely amazing that they would be lucky to go to her. I have complete faith that they will be amazing once they're healed. Just from what I can see down my top right now they look so good!! I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have found such a top notch surgeon for such a life altering surgery for me.
