Upper Eyelid Surgery - Failed

After Surgery Chronic Complications

$5,000
I had upper eyelid surgery two years ago. Since my surgery I have had sudden swelling in my eyelids, so severe that my eyes swell shut. This lasts about 2 days. I have seen a ophthalmologist who said my eyes were healthy, but my lymph drainage system may have been compromised by the surgery and this may be a chonic life long issue. I have eye drops that I use every day and keep irritants away from my eyes as much as possible. no make up. I typically spend a week of every month indoors with ice packs unable to drive or see clearly because of the swelling. I am not happy with my surgery. I may look better, but the cost has been too great.

Is there any signs of improvement since your upper bleph? I’d love hearing from you on this problem. I just had an upper bleph and I’m having dry eye.
Have you been feeling any better? I’m so sorry things went wrong for you.

In late 2016 I looked into upper eyelid surgery because I was losing eyesight from droopy eyes. I saw a ophthalmologist who confirmed i had lost 25% of my upper peripheral vision. My insurance would cover the surgery. I had the surgery 10/2016 and was very happy with the results. I could see again without lifting my eye brows! My eyes didnt look so tired either. I had some complications healing (swollen shut eyes), but after healing I felt and looked great. BUT now in 2018, my eyes have gradually gone back to how they were before surgery. Droopy eye lids again and difficulty with peripheral vision. I don't know what to do. Will my insurance pay for a re-do? Will a re-do even help? I was told that the benefits of this surgery would last several years --- not just under TWO years. I don't know where to start to remedy my situation.
