Treatment to Remove Brown Spots on Legs from Years of Sun Exposure. Newport Beach, CA

I wanted to be able to wear shorts without being self conscious so I started investigating procedures that would remove the brown spots on my legs. I had tried various bleaching creams with no success. My doctor suggested laser, she told me to do my homework on docters, technique and cost. I eventually narrowed my choice down to two dermatologist offices that used the Q switched laser. Not only did I schedule consultive appointments with both but I researched the laser types as well. I ultimately decided on the office of Dr Nancy Silverberg. What sold me on her office was my appointment with her Cosmetic Consultant. I like that I was told the name of the laser, the medlite Q switch which is very reliable and even though the price was a bit more than my other choice, I felt it was more realistic. The first procedure is more costly and she covered both legs and all of my spots. I was told if I choose additional treatment they will be less. I had it done 2 days ago so it will be a few weeks until I can see the results. Right now they're not a pretty sight. The procedure was a little more painful than I expected and they burnt for about a half hour afterwards. Today some of the places are a little tender but not too bad. I'm following their instructions on after care. I will post again in a few weeks

I'm currently experiencing the same issues. I have a ton of sun damage on arms and legs. Lightening creams and multiple I'll treatments have given little to no results. It's really made me self conscious about my skin :( please post your results I'm excited for you!

Nice to hear others can relate. Check out my update, it definitely looks worse before it gets better but I'm hopeful for a nice outcome.

I posted a before picture but it's been replaced with the post treatment picture. Sorry, but I can tell you my brown spots were large. One friend referred to them as giraffe spots. Hopefully that gives you a visual.

One week post treatment
One week post treatment the spots are turning from dark red to dark brown as they heal. I was told that realistically it would take about two weeks and then the spots would fall off revealing pink skin underneath. I'm using Aquaphor to aid in healing.

I was feeling discouraged this morning because I was told 1-2 weeks and the scabs would fall off. It's two weeks to the day and their still there. Tonight I inspected my legs and I can see that they are beginning to flake. I know nothing is text book and everyone heals at individual rates. Note to Doctors: Patient take your word literally, please consider this when you give time frames for results

Would love to hear how things are going. I have a severe problem with brown spots (SK's) on my legs and would like to know if you think it's worth it. Do you have any updated photos?

I'm very excited to see the result. Please post some pictures soon. I want to try this becauSe i have PIH on my legs but am hesitant because when I had laser for my acne scars I told my doctor that I wont go back anymore because it was so painful and it took about a month before it healed. My some of my acne scars were gone... Am wondering if Laser will help my PIH disappear

I don't want to discourage you but if the spots are Seb keratosis the laser will not remove them. I have a severe problem and have tried everything. They may lighten but not leave. I wish you the best of luck. Please send more updates but keep in mind it may take up to two months to heal fully.. All the Best!!!
