This was my first treatment at Southcoast Medspa....

This was my first treatment at Southcoast Medspa. I'm hoping to get rid of my acne scars on my cheek, temples and jawline. So, the first day went something like this: arrived at the clinic (spa?), applied half of a small jar (about 10 ml jar) of numbing cream to my whole face. Waited about an hour for my face to numb. In that time I walked across the street to Starbucks. I think I used less than half of the numbing cream cause I didn't come out all covered in white stuff, so being in public wasn't that bad for me, just shiny looking. So I came back, ate my sandwich, had a coffee (all while my lips were numb lol). I had to eat because an hour before the procedure, I was given a pain killer, anti-anxiety, and antibiotic. At this time, I also had to go back and apply the rest of the jar of numbing cream. Using the whole thing, my face was white this time. And I was already numb from the first application. So... fast forward about 45 minutes, I'm sent in to wash my face with the spa's special face cleansing soap. Some people have a hard time getting the stuff off their face, but I first rinsed my face with warm water and got almost all of it off before using the cleanser. No problem for me. Now, into the laser room. I get a hair cover thing put on my head, ear plugs and 2 stress balls. They cover me with a disposable sheet and an additional little blank or cause the cold air that gets blown on your face makes it pretty chilly. She starts with a micro peel laser all over my face. My face feels nothing but a little pressure from where she put the laser tool. Now on to the profractional. I don't know what setting cause I didn't ask. But, I didn't feel anything most of the time. I had to ask if my face was bleeding. Towards the end, I did start to feel some prickliness but it was bearable. If you've ever had an extraction facial for blackheads/pimples, that hurts more than this laser on your numb face. So that's about it at the clinic. Now here's the pet that concerned me a bit... i think the meds I took were a little too strong for me. I felt "carsick" all the way home. I had a driver, they don't let you drive home after taking those meds. When I got home, I immediately drank some grapefruit juice and ate some grapefruits. Apparently, you're not supposed to have grapefruit with some meds and I think that made me even sicker. I ended up vomiting and then was out for a couple hours, sleeping. I woke up and my face was now purple instead of that red. I did bleed quite a bit and it does ooze a bit but doesn't drip down my face. I just blot it away with the gauze pads that they gave me. Post treatment: 1 tablet of antibiotic twice a day for 5 days, no washing your face for the first 24 hrs and just use the aquaphor every 2-3 hours, day 2-7, wash face with the cleanser they provide and apply the recovery hydrator (made with green tea extract which my skin loves!), actually day 2 I still use aquaphor after cleansing instead of the hydrator then switch on day 3 and continue for 5 days. They also have me an oil free sunscreen (broad 30spf) which needs to be applied when you can start going out on day 3 or 4. I set out 4 days to hibernate, so I don't need to worry about that yet. Day 7, I start using the bleaching cream on my face again for 2 weeks. Oh, I had to use bleaching cream on my face for 4 weeks and 1 week break prior to treatment. That's information overload for day 1. Cost $4800 is with promo and for 4 treatments.
