The whole nine yards! Septorhinoplasty with Turbinate reduction

Have my surgery booked for March 24th with Dr. Sajjadian! Depending on the day, I go between feeling really excited for the surgery and really apprehensive. Also, as a Christian, I've struggled with the necessity of having a procedure like this done--it is very much a functional surgery to correct past trauma and breathing problems, but it still is SO much money to spend on myself (even if insurance does help a little). If I'm honest too, I would say the aesthetic changes are a huge reason for going through with the surgery, not just the functional ones.

I don't want to be so fixated on myself and every imperfection I see in me, to the point where I care most about myself and my looks and not about others. Ugh....I mean, that's so lame, you know? Definitely checking my heart and motivation behind getting the procedure done. Regardless, it's my character that really matters, not my outsides (so cheesy, I know). There are so many physical, psychological, emotional, etc. reasons to do it though, that I'm deciding to go through with it. I look forward to the day where I don't have to shield my face at certain angles in public, or cringe at photos, or get chronic sinus infections! Hallelujah!

My ideal result would be something so natural that people don't notice (that they maybe notice I look great, but not because of my new nose!) I have generally sharp features so I feel a straight nose would be best (none of that ski slope or miss piggy stuff). Dr. Sajjadian is a master at creating noses that are suited to the individual person's face and bone structure--not simply giving everyone the same generic small nose. I don't want a generic small nose! I just want a straight, normal looking, functioning nose. Is that too much to ask? :)

Will update as the day approaches! Pre-op is in about 1 month!

So grateful for all the reviews on RealSelf and...

So grateful for all the reviews on RealSelf and thought I'd add my own! I've been thinking about getting this procedure for a while. There are times I'm OK with my nose and other times where I cringe in certain lightning or after seeing myself from certain angles in photos.

I broke my nose twice growing up (took a softball to the nose when I was 8 or so and then got headbutted in the nose by my brother probably early high school).

I just had my consultation with Dr. Sajjadian of Newport Beach and it went great! He's very calm and patient and definitely put me at ease. The staff is very friendly and bubbly, too! I love Dr. Sajjadian's work because he specializes in creating natural noses and also improving breathing and function. I don't want a completely different nose, I just want to breathe better and look more like God intended me to before my nose was broken.

Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Sajjadian and his staff so far for my consultation. Everyone is so kind and bubbly and Dr. Sajjadian is very kind and patient and understanding. His work really speaks for itself--it is so natural and beautiful! Each person I've seen get the procedure with him simply looks like the best version of themselves! Excited for my pre-op and septorhinoplasty procedure with him!
