This is a long overdue review for my Lifestyle lift and Obagi blue peel with Dr. Nichter in Newport Beach, Orange County, CA. This is a big decision to make because it's your face, you can't afford to make mistakes, so I will give you a very honest review. Keep in mind that everyone has different opinions, heals differently, and the result varies for each person. It was totally worth it for me.
After years of research and interviewing 5 other cosmetics surgeons from Orange, Long Beach, Irvine, to Beverly Hills, I decided to go with Dr. Nichter in Newport Beach. I saw him the 1st time in 2011 for a complete makeover then came back 5 yrs later for just a lifestyle lift, his patented version of mini face lift. It's been a little over a year and I couldn't be happier. The positive results showed just a few weeks after the procedure. Everyone says I look good and thinner, even now after gaining 10 lbs. :( My chin is more defined, my face is thinner and more contoured, the double chin is gone. I look just the way I want to. The most wonderful thing is: nobody could tell I had it done. I look completely natural. Dr. Nichter is a caring, patient, artistic surgeon. He takes his time and explains everything very carefully, so write down your questions before your consultation appointment and ask away.
The procedure was in-office, 3 hrs. long. There was no pain but my face was swollen for about 2 weeks. I bruised well so the bruises disappeared in a week. However, my mouth was crooked for over 3 months but only obvious when I smile. My face was numb from under the eyes down to the neck, especially around the face and ears for over a year, but no one could tell. My jowl and face muscles in-front of the ears are still numb today 15 months later. Although I have got used to the numbness, I hope it will someday go away. The only scars I have are behind the ears and they still hurt. Dr. Nichter said it took a year to heal and I didn't believe him, so be patient with the process, don't panic. Listen to Dr. Nichter and you will love the results. What I love most about him is his honesty, respect, and skills. My most concern was the wrinkles on my neck due to sun exposure and actually, I wanted to have the face-lift just to get rid of them. Dr. Nichter told me they will not go away, but I still hoped that they would. He was right, but they do look less visible and my new face draws attention away from the neck wrinkles. I told him to be "very conservative" because I want to look natural, not like the "real housewives of OC", and he did just that.
At the time I had the procedure, I really didn't care for the office staff, the nurse, and the consultant. They were rude, insensitive, and arrogant. They made mistakes. Phones were not answered during office hours, messages were not returned. I almost didn't do it because of the staff, but then I realized it's not Dr. Nichter's faults. So I told him about my feelings, risked being discriminated, but he was apologetic and appreciative of my feedbacks. Most of the office staff has been replaced and with the expansion of BioSpa next door, the whole situation has been improved 200%. But just to be safe, make sure that you review the quotes carefully and ask questions.
I hope Dr. Nichter will still be practicing when I am 70 so that he could do my mini face lift again.
