Dr. Sanjay Grover -Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon...

Dr. Sanjay Grover -Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon

I am 11 weeks post op now ? I am writing this review to share with all you ladies on RS as a Thank You for how all your posts helped me in the process of my Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation redo and also to give credit to my amazing surgeon, Dr. Sanjay Grover. No doubt there are several Plastic Surgeons perhaps as qualified as he is, but if you are in the process of meeting a qualified, professional and perfectionist Plastic Surgeon in the Newport Beach area do consider meeting with Dr. Grover.

I am 49, married no children, 5’2” tall and weigh about 145.
At some point in my life I was quite overweight and despite my weight loss the skin in my stomach area was not going to tighten nor tone up. I did not maintain the discipline of an exercise routine. There were times I committed myself to exercise and achieve some weight loss. Up and down. After a couple of years of considering, weighing options, meeting with Doctors for opinions I finally made a decision to have Tummy Tuck and 3rd Breast augmentation revision done.

Regarding breast augmentation I had surgery before and had not been happy with the “extremely natural look” my breast where somewhat droopy and wide. I was very reluctant to have any additional surgery since I have had other revisions performed in the past due to rupture.

But everything came together for me this time around with Dr. Sanjay Grover! I did my research and met with several of the top Plastic Surgeons in Newport Beach area. They of course are all well qualified and answered all my questions. I had 5 Doctors opinions and recommendations. I evaluated my own objectives, concerns, their recommendations but also extremely important to me was to review their work specifically for Tummy Tuck and of course all credentials and checks! I was not sure I would have Breasts redone at this point.

I read so many reviews which you ladies have posted on this website. It helped me incredibly to ask the right questions, to know what to expect, learn things I did not know (my husband said too much! Lol) and what to look for.

My surgery was August 25, 2014. I had prepared for this day since two months prior. I used to smoke I stopped as indicated 1 month prior and zero alcohol 8 days prior.
After my research of the effects that nicotine will have in your ability to heal your incisions, If you seek the best result DO NOT smoke.

I stocked up on all the essentials I read about here and the items Dr. Grover’s office indicated. I took Bromelian, Arnica and Vitamin C – “overdose” per say on it ? a week prior to surgery. Had all prescriptions ready.
I did an Enema a day prior to surgery 2x’s and I also took 1 Colace pill and also took MOM Milk of Magnesium 2x a day starting day 2. I was extremely blessed by taking this approach I had NO constipation problems whatsoever! I am the type that if my body “hears” I take pain medication I get constipated so I was very proactive to prevent this.
My thoughts based on what I have read from RS ladies… don’t wait or risk it becoming a painful problem.

I had gauze, fever gage, tape, GASX a must (you will get bloated), liquids, prune juice and prepared a list and menu of very healthy and high fiber and protein meals.
I had a walker I borrowed and had a tall toilet seat aid. (All my bathroom toilets are the low “modern” style).
I also did rent a hospital bed. The best thing I ever did! It was perfect for sitting, laying down and finding your comfort area! Well worth it and not expensive if you shop around. We rented it for a month.

I am very fortunate and blessed that I have a supportive husband and even at this, I must say the process I went through weighted on him and us!
It is true what you read about, you go through an emotional rollercoaster! Try to be aware.

I also scheduled myself to be at an aftercare facility. Dr. Grover requires it for the first night… I elected to stay 4 nights. Pamela, the owner & RN and her staff where amazing! They know exactly what you need and what you are going through 24/7 while you are in their care.
As supportive as my husband is…. I know me!... I did not want to put him through the initials days not knowing what to expect as far as my pain level.

If anyone needs these contacts phone numbers send me a message, I will be happy to provide for you.

It is Very important that you schedule the time for yourself to be checked out 100% from everything!
In general they say 2 weeks you are good to return to your functions. I have read many ladies bounce very quickly others not so fast.

For many of us this was a difficult decision for different reasons, but we have gone through and done it! Make sure you take care of yourself and make it worth the entire process and financial cost.
Do not risk hindering your healing because trivial things need to be done.
Being patient with your own self is what I found most challenging. I wanted to and needed to do things but I was not able to.

Take the time to heal first! Your surgeon has done his part now you need to do the next, take care of yourself as he/she indicated, nurture yourself well, rest rest rest and same time make sure you are walking as much as your body allows. I know, sounds contradictory but when you go through this you will understand.

My experience right after surgery was simply unexpected. I imagined and prepared myself for pain endurance “mentally” from what I have read here on RS for some ladies.
Many of you have stated that between 2nd and 4th day you have experienced incredible pain. I had NO pain, none Thank You God! I was waiting for it… but I did not experience it.

I had one drain which came out 4 days after. I did have me breast augmentation revision. I had explained and conveyed all my expectations and concerns to Dr. Grover and once he addressed everything with my husband and myself I was very comfortable and trusted in his skills.

I had no pain on my tummy tuck or on my breast.
What I have dealt with is the uncomfortableness of the swelling! I was informed there will be swelling for some period of time and there has been and this in my experience has been the most uncomfortable part of this process! I did take pain medication but when I look back it was to help me relax enough to sleep and forget the discomfort of the swelling.

November 25th will be three months post opp. I am still swollen in abdomen area.

Dr. Grover has stated that I may need slight revision on sides of my incisions. They call it ”Dog Ears”! I have an appointment scheduled for November.
I choose to wear binder all the time. I believe it has helped me the swelling, healing and reminds me to keep good posture while everything heals inside.

How do I look?
I cannot wait to see the final results as in general they state it takes 6 months for all swelling to subside. But my breasts look fantastic to me and my husband! It is as I wanted them to look.
Dr. Grover did an areolar lift and the incision lines are very faint already and I know will be difficult to see after a year as it heals! Amazing attention to detail in the sutures!

I have a noticeable waist line and seriously curved appearance which I always “thought I had”… I didn’t lool lol! But now…I DO!

My Tummy Tuck incision was extremely important to me! It is almost perfect, just as nice and thin! It did end up slightly higher in the mid-section as I heal but considering the incision line I believe overtime it will be very slightly noticeable. I don’t believe it could have been done any more meticulously.
I may need a slight revision Dr. Grover stated on the sides, “dog little ears” I will find out at my next appointment.

Also, it is true what Dr.’s state about the psychological effects this TT procedure can have pertaining you desire and motivation to improve and keep up your body!
I have been more active as I am able to and have huge motivation to keep up my exercise routine! ?

I hope this is helpful to some of you ladies who are considering this procedure.
