My main hope was to have a better defined jawline...

My main hope was to have a better defined jawline and tighten the skin under my chin and neck. I was getting jowly, and was losing the definition between my jawline and my neck. I wanted to get back that more feminine face-shape I had when I was younger. I've done lasers and botox, but I knew I was going to need something more serious to get the results I was after. I did a few months of research. I wanted the physician to be board certified, and I wanted to see lots of before and after pictures. When I came across Dr Sadati's website, and was very impressed by the results I saw in his lower face-lift, it's called a technique called "the Double C Plication," When I read that the procedure can be done without being put under, I was even more interested. I made an appointment and Dr. Sadati spent quite a bit of time explaining how the procedure is done, and showed me in the mirror what I could expect my result to be - no jowls and no saggy neck. He explained that the incision would start just above the ear and go around the front and back of the ear, and end about 1.5 inches into the hairline. The doctor then lifts and repositions the muscle back to where it was a couple of decades ago and stitches it in place, then closes the incision removing any excess skin. So your face isn't pulled or stretched, it really is repositioning what has sagged. I was pretty surprised that he could do all of this without anesthesia, but not having to be given anesthesia was also a big plus for me. He also said that I would probably only need a week to recover. I've known plenty of people who have had facelifts and you are not ready to be seen in public a week after, so I was thinking that might be too much to expect. I was also given 3 pages of instructions, of things to avoid and things to do to help speed recovery. Dr Sadati's staff is also very considerate, Janet even called me on Christmas Eve to make sure I had my instructions - because I was having the surgery the next week. The night before I was told to take a valium (even though I was afraid it might make me oversleep) and to eat a hearty breakfast before coming in. A friend drove me to my 7am appointment. Dr Sadati went over with me again about what would be happening. I was given 2 more Valium and the next thing I knew it was 11am and my friend was back to take me home. I stood up from the chair said bye to everyone and walked out the door. My head was wrapped tight in bandages and an ace bandage, and I had a drain, but I felt pretty good. I was given some pain killers, antibiotics, zpack - but I felt no pain at all. And wasn't groggy or nauseous because I hadn't been given any anesthesia. - I'm sure he must have numbed up the entire area pretty good because the incisions are fairly extensive. Dr Sadati called me that night to see how I was doing and I told him I felt great. I had to sleep sitting up to avoid swelling, but I was in no pain, so one valium had me out for the night. The next morning I went back to see Dr Sadati, to have the bandages and drain removed. I had a little yellowish bruising on my jaw and some slight puffiness, but I could clearly see a huge improvement. I had a defined jawline and no jowls. It was the face I recognized from about 10 or more years ago. I was beyond pleased. Even on day one, I looked better than I had expected. I was told to wear a compression wrap 24-hrs a day for the first week, taking it off only to clean the incisions and apply antibacterial ointment. I followed the orders exactly, and took it very easy. I was also being extra careful about opening my mouth too wide or talking too much, so I mostly ate soup for a few days and kept quite. After one week I went back to have the stitches removed, and Dr Sadati had been right. I had no bruising or swelling and was back at work. My recovery took less than a week. The incisions are still healing and very sensitive, but they are already practically invisible. After 12 days there is still some numbness on my ears and on the sides of my face where the muscle was repositioned, and I am still wearing the compression headgear at night, but I as soooo happy with my decision to do this. and I can't recommend Dr Sadati and his staff enough. I would definitely suggest checking out this type of lower face lift first before deciding on doing heavy-duty, aggressive surgery.
