Okay!! So I wasn't going to post on here because mostly of privacy but people can be so rude and ignorant so here's my story.

I was in a horrible moto accident almost 4 years ago. Knowing I'm never going to look like my old self I decided to at least getting my nose reduced in size to somewhat resemble my old nose or better!! I know I found the best doctor. He is truly an artist however my new nose currently has a mind of its own. Because of previous serious injury I'm in the top 1% for swelling and scar tissue. Something I don't think either my doctor nor I had planned for. Not to mention I gained a friend(hematoma) that I've named Norm under my eye. This happen on Day 4 when everything started to go south! My eyes were swollen shut and while straining to open them I felt a stap. It was a stitch that allowed blood to go where it should not be. Then on day 5 my tearing eyes forced the top part of my nose case up allowing fluid to enter. That happened Saturday nite.

All I ask is that you please be kind as this has been phucking hard for me. If it isn't one thing....My reason for posting is so maybe I'll feel better. I'm can't expect all ignorant people will stop being mean to me! Or making comments as to " why my BF is with me" etc. but hopefully I just want to phucking feel better. 11 days post I'm still swollen in the bridge of my nose. I look like a ????, and my skin is garbage. I see the light I just know it's going to take me longer to get there. ????

Thank you for taking the time to post such a kind compliment. Bless you x

Hi Betty! Thanks for posting your story. Healing after rhinoplasty can be a crazy and frustrating process sometimes. I too am prone to excessive swelling and scar, so I feel ya on that. The good news is although it might take longer for our noses to heal and reach its final fabulous point, with good surgeons (like yours), a positive attitude and a strong belief that all will end well, you will be rock'in a lovely nose in no time. Stay strong and keep posting. Many blessings to you dear!

PS Yep, mean people suck! Meanness comes from misery and you know what they say about misery --- it loves company. Surround yourself with positive people girl and keep on strutting! You'll be fine.

Thank you for your kind words. Yea, it's finally starting to look like a nose. I'm more content now with the healing situation.

You're a survivor. You're still beautiful and your end results will boos your confidence

Thank you for your comment. You know, sometimes I forget that I am a survivor. Perspective..

I suffered multiple facial fractures from a MVA resulting in a 9 hour facial reconstruction 1.5 year ago. I am a 34 year old black female. When I tell you "I understand" on all levels I come from a place of experience. I too am seeking additional work for corrective measures and plate removal. That "light" you speak of....girl, I only started to see it again a few months ago. It is and will get better. If you would like to communicate outside of this forum please email me at *******@gmail.com. I have a feeling we could be a blessing to each other. Btw, you were and still are beautiful and forget whoever has "anything" negative to say. We have to remember it is going to be a journey to get back to that place of peace within, but we will get there, we WILL get there.

I hope to hear from you...stay in your positive thoughts and pray-out the negative. We truly can become our own worst enemy.

Breakdown over!!

betty1234
Okay!! So as it turns out I have a nose! I was so having a breakdown with My previous post but I'm feeling better. I've been incessantly taking my arnica, bromelain, pineapple juice, and contour taping my nose. Trying to mold the shape with the swelling. After a few days I definitely see a difference. Norm is still hanging around on his last leg. I've been putting heat on him. Normally they would just shoot him up with cortisone but because of how I'm healing we're nervous for infection.

I also decided to get a Jessner peel for my skin. I have really sensitive skin and I broke out after surgery. So this is the first step to getting it under control.
Keep you updated B.

You look wonderful! You have been through a lot and you seem to have a handle on your road to a full recovery.
January 18, 2016
I'm trying and thank you.
January 17, 2016
You are still early days, but I can see a lovely shaped nose under the swelling. I've had reconstructive surgery on my nose and the swelling, bruising and pain in the first week are awful. I think you are going to have a great result. Good luck with your healing. Look forward to your updates.
January 18, 2016
I read your story, and can sympathize so much with your situation. It took months for your healing. However now it's looks as if you are happy with your beautiful nose. It's been a journey huh?
January 20, 2016
Thanks Betty, still have good and bad days, there is a noticeable dent and scar with redness that I have to cover. But overall my nose is a good shape and has held up over the past 2 and a half years. With my previous 2 they were more deconstructive than reconstructive. Ironic that my first surgeon wrote reconstructive nose surgery on my surgical notes and removed so much of my nose. Sorry about your tooth issues, I can honestly say severe tooth pain is worse than child birth so I hope you have got that sorted now. It's the last thing you need. When you have a big operation the healing and trauma can really lower your bodies immune system so make sure you look after your health and rest. Sending hugs your way. x

Setback! Emergency root canal!!

betty1234
So, the past Sunday I got a horrible pain in my bottom row gums. I found an emergency dentist whom discovered I have 2 teeth that are fractured below the gums. One needed a root canal the other needs extraction :-(.

I was so not expecting this. They gave me a lot of pain medication none of which worked until I gave in and took ibuprofen. Tooth pain is the only pain that makes you want to break your finger because you believe it'll make you feel better.

The doc has shut this down now! He worried about blood thinning. I'm praying about the pain. On the more positive side it made my swelling go down and it sent my hematoma (Norm) packing.

I can see a difference in my skin after getting a Jessner peel. Complexion and overall texture is better

.....sorry to hear about the tooth, I hate the dentist....I hope the pain has subsided.
I'm glad the peels working out for you. That's promising,
Hang in there hon.
January 20, 2016
I'm on some heavy medicine. I do not like the dentist either.
January 20, 2016
Hi Betty, hope your toothache subsides. I love the jessner peels! I am in the peeling process as i type. I can tell that the swelling had gone down even more. I am 6 months post op and i still have swelling, but you are looking good. Would love to see what it would look like with makeup.
January 20, 2016
Thank so much for your comment. I'm not the biggest fan of makeup. Anything can look good with a little contouring.
January 20, 2016
Oh no, a possible root canal on top of your recovery from recent surgery! You are a warrior girl. I admire your strength. Much can be learned from your courage and positive attitude. I've joined you in prayer about the pain. Been there myself. I had an abscessed tooth a few days after my surgery and tooth pain is no joke! Hope you're feeling better today.

...And I agree, your skin does look brighter and smoother after the peel. Makes me want to get one for me dull old skin. Blessings!
January 20, 2016
I misread...you actually had the root canal?! Feel better soon dear.
