Day 5

So, the pain is gone! My incision sited have healed well, I can take the stitches out tomorrow if I want. I've got no lumps or altered sensation, I to every now and then get a slight tingling sensations that comes for like 3 seconds, but just intermittent and it actually feels kind of cool. It still kind of feel like I've done an ab workout when I do anything with those muscles but it's just a gentle reminder to not do to much. Yesterday I probably did to much and my swelling was worse int he evening, but it seems to have gone down again this morning. I still have swelling but again hats to be expected. I'm just not sure my garment is small enough. Like it's tight, but not super tight at all, it's just kinda like I'm wearing Spanx. I go back to the doctor in three days, I'll ask him then I guess. Either way, relatively cruisey recovery I suppose!

Okay so I'm by over weight. In fairness I'm relatively happy with my body. There's a little extra fat around my arm pits and I don't have a thigh gap, but I think I'm curvaceous, womanly. Could do with a run, buuttt the only thing that genuinely makes me self conscious is my pot belly. My surgeon genuinely laughed at me and said I didn't need the procedure (he was different to the one who did the consultation) but it's something that has always got me down. So I figured why not fix it!

I'm almost 72 hours post procedure. And I'm waiting for those washboard abs to appear already!! I know I know. I need to be patient!

My experience so far:

The procedure itself: kinda cool. I'm very far from squeamish so I watched the whole thing. Three tiny little incisions into my abdomen, they're amazing. You can hardly see them already. The local anaesthetic hurt like a [RS bleep], it was like being at the dentist all over again. The rest of it however was pretty fine. Sure it's uncomfortable, but not painful. Going up over my ribs hurt a bit, but that was more the actual prong hitting my ribs, not the actual Vader process hat hurt.

Afterwards, I took paracetamol for two days, that eased the pain to a tolerable level. Not I don't need any. Sure, bending isn't exactly fun, I'm learning to squat instead of bending my back (which we really should all do anyway) and getting off the couch is harden than usual, a lot easier today than yesterday though!

I've got no bruising!! Yayyyy!!! I have some swelling, how much is swelling how much is remaining fat though I have no clue! It's driving me insane! I just want to know what the end product will look like already!! Honestly I don't really look any different, but I watched those chunks of fat get sucked out so I have faith that surely there'll be a difference!!

I'll keep you posted!

He's amazing. His wife is the nurse. I've worked in theatres before and I'm the worst critic, but there were both fantastic!
