Hi my name is Debbie. I am 38yrs old and have 9 year old twin boys :) I have dreamt of having a tummy tuck for so long and am really excitied about getting it done next week!!

A bit about my history: My abdo has been thru a LOT!! starting with major surgery at 11 months old, resulting in a large vertical scar. I had a ruptured ectopic pregancy resulting in a full laparotomy, a twin pregnancy thanks to IVF, c section twin delivery, laparoscopy for endo then to finish off a laporotomy hysterectomy last year!! Needless to say my stomach is a mess. I am so excitied about having this operation, I work out 5-6 days a week at the gym, but there is no helping this stomach other than surgery. I will be having lipo of the flanks, upper abs and inner theighs as well. I have found reading the reviews on this site really helpful and will continue reading daily until I go in for mine Im sure :)

I forgot to mention that TT comes with muscle repair as well as the lipo. Also really excitied about having a belly button again!! Is it grossly destorted and twisted at the moment because of my emergancy surgery for ectopic 12 years ago. My awesome husband and twin boys are so supportive and excitied for me too.

I have a feeling this week is going to drag the worst, I work from home as office manager for our company, so am trying to keep busy getting all the books up todate etc and going to the gym heaps so that am as fit as possible for recovery. So EXCITIED :)

Note-Question? I am from New Zealand and notice from most of the reviews here that you generally go home straight after surgery!?! Why is that?? Very different here; I am first on the list so will be at procedure centre at 7.15am (yay) so in theatre about 9am i guess, surgery is 3.5hrs approx, and will be staying in the private centre for 2 nights ;) will have a catheter for first 24hrs. Surgeoon put's in an anesthetic infusion system which stays in place for duration of hospital stay, 2 drains etc etc. I personally like the idea of staying in hospital as it will force me to rest and let the anesthetic wear off. :)

1 day po :)
I have a flat tummy!!!! All went really well. Was in theatre for 4 hrs, woke in recovery with only minimal pain. Stayed in there for an hour then back to my room on the ward. Was really groggy and wasted for most of the arvo. So thankful for my catheter was able to drink plenty and not have to get up.

Was kept in bed for 24hrs then up and moving this morning, feeling really good and pain only a 2, that is thanks to local anesthetic infusion system that s going directly into tummy. Bruising starting to come thru now. Loving what I can see so far :) will be going home tomorrow so will upload photos once home

Day 3 post op, Am home and feeling really good altho have just taken pain meds and feeling bit groggy so this update will be quick lol

Came home yesterday arvo, drains have been removed allready which is great. Feeling really good when I walk around just a little bent over, Have so many pain meds etc that feel pretty spaced out but if things keep going as they are I shouldn't need to take as many :) Had BM this morn, that was all good. Am surprised at how good and comfortable I feel so early!! altho I think because I have had sooooo many previous operations that my body and I know what to expect and seems to get easier each time. I am sooooo happy with my results so far, I keep patting my tummy lol
I go back to see the PS on Wednesday and that is when I will get to see the scar and belly button, as all covered up at mo. So exciting.

12 Days Post Op

Hi Ladies, Went to see the nurse today to get belly button stitiches removed etc and I have a bit of infection around the vertical part of my scar :) hopefully it clears up quickly with the antibiotic ointment. Other than that all going really well. Have been resting heaps and taking things easy. Went for my first walk yesterday up to the local mall with my lovely son for lunch :) only 15 mins each way was nice to get out. Am aloud to start driving again this week YAY will be awesome to get my independence back.

Have been so pleased with how this has all gone and looking forward to see what the next few weeks/months have to offer. We are planning on taking our boys to America for the 10th birthday in September, am so excitied about how I will look and feel then :) will really be able to enjoy a holiday without worrying what I look like in a swim suit etc

Hope you are all well xx
