“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” The quote is attributed to Michelangelo but could just as easily apply to the work of Dr. Zimm, which is nothing short of a masterpiece. I don’t usually write reviews, but I just had to say something about how Dr. Zimm has transformed my life. I broke my nose at age 17. I was devastated, but always thought I had to live with the bulbous tip, crooked nose, and bony bridge. I knew deep down how I was meant to look, and I was deeply ashamed by the face I would see in mirrors or the profile I’d see in pictures. It simply didn’t feel like “me”. I decided to finally do something about it, over a decade later. Dr. Zimm was the first doctor I visited, and though I did consult with another doctor (it’s highly recommended to shop around!) I knew from the start that Dr. Zimm would be the person I would trust the most with my rhinoplasty procedure. He listened to my concerns with kindness, and relieved any doubts I had about the procedure. Jennifer and Evita, his two office staff, were equally kind, friendly, and considerate. They called me on Sunday evening, the night before my procedure, just to check in and see how I was feeling. After I got my cast removed, I began to cry. My “real” face stared back at me: the face I always thought was mine but was taken from me at such an early age. My biggest concern was that Dr Zimm would give me a nose that looked clearly “altered”, but he saw the beauty beneath my skin and crafted a nose that was elegantly proportioned to my unique face. I didn’t think it was possible for me to feel so confident in my skin. My only regret is that I didn’t meet Dr Zimm, Jenifer, and Evita earlier, so I wanted to spread the word to everyone out there who is on the fence. If you feel unhappy with your nose, don’t just suffer in silence. Take the leap of faith into Dr. Zimm’s hands. You’ll be so glad you did.
