Provider Review

Overall rating

I had researched hair transplant for around a year before I went through with it. What sparked the latest research was seeing an old picture of Elon Musk and Peter Thiel on Reddit. Much of the comments were about Elon Musk's hair. After reading through them I started doing my own research on hair transplants. I also began looking up celebrities who had gotten a hair transplant. Knowing how much normal it had gotten over the years made it a less extreme option in my mind, and gave me more confidence of the treatment. After finding a few places near New York and reading various reviews, I scheduled a consultation with Ziering. During the consultation, I was looking for examples that were close to my hair loss case. For me, my hairline was receding on the temples. Some time passed, and I called back to schedule my treatment. On the day of, I was really nervous when I got there, the Doctor, Dr. Varona, noticed and handed me some anti anxiety medication along with painkillers in preparation for the operation. The staff that were to work on the treatment introduced themselves as they came in. Dr. Varona kept a very calm demeanor throughout the procedure, that helped ease my anxiety too. The rest of the operation went by smoothly. Aside from the anesthesia injections, there wasn't any pain after that. I was so comfortable at one point that I fell asleep. There was also a TV in the room I could watch, and did for some time. In the end, the Doctor harvested 400 more grafts at no extra cost, which I really appreciate. After the operation, I was given a two week schedule of post-op treatment. I remember being so paranoid of possibly messing up my grafts, that I followed the schedule meticulously, even extending some things by a couple more days. Now, it's been three months, tiny hairs have started to show up in the transplanted areas. Day by day, I'm getting just a bit more comfortable with how my hair looks since I don't have to "hide" or comb over those spots as much. And I can't wait until those tiny hairs are the same length as the rest of my hair.
