Unsuccessful facelift

Unsuccessful Facelift

Facelift looked great for the first 6 months, most likely due from swelling. Two years later my jowls and pouch under my jaw are back. Extremely disappointing. He offered to redo at no charge except for the cost of anesthesia and operating room fees, but I have a hunch that the revision will fail again due to his SMAS technique. Currently searching for someone else to perform the revision. Very professional and intelligent, a bit cold at first meeting but quickly became warmer thereafter, and extremely concerned with with a successful healing process. His nurses and staff are friendly but Ashley the booker often does not call back within a timely fashion.

The reviewer raises a valid concern about early relapse after facelift surgery. This is quite understandable given the resources, time away from regular life, and recovery entailed with this procedure. Consistent, high-quality results can be independent of physician experience and skill if individual anatomy and skin quality are not optimal. Fifty-year-old patients with great bone structure, skin without chronic sun damage, and minimal aging changes do consistently better than 65-year-olds with the opposite characteristics, for example. In our experience, aged, inelastic skin is the primary reason for revision surgery. Contrary to the reviewer’s opinion, SMAS technique is a far less important variable. As the above review notes, we are committed to our patients and have a liberal revision policy. Patients who stay with us are ultimately satisfied — hopefully those that do not become so as well.
