This is Not Right!! Doctor Prasad.

$5,000
Beware of this Doctor. About 2 years ago, I went to him seeking help for my hairloss. I was a Norwood 5. I asked if PRP could help me to regain some of my hair. He said I was a great candidate. He said I need two sessions. He charged me $5,000.00 for it. after a year an half, I had no results. I told him, if I could at least have my other half of the money back and he said no. He doesn’t give money back, because there no guarantees. However, I just asked for the other half and he said no. I am going to fight to see if I can at least get my other half. Please let me know if you had a same problem. I am going to start to look for a lawyer. This is not right.

From a recent post on MMH, it looks like he was also duping accounts to self promote.
The Attorney General of NY is a lawyer. Try them first if you feel you have been duped by his actions.

I will call the general attorney of NYC tomorrow. If so someone else it is the same situation, please let me know. Thanks.

The high rate of success of our treatment has been consistent since 2011 which is why I continue offer it. In addition, there has been a significant number of doctors offering PRP and PRP with ACell which further validates this technology. Medical procedures do not come with guarantees which is why patients sign an informed consent. I don't recall any conversation with a patient like what is described in the review. If a patient had this treatment 2 years ago, they would most likely be due to come in for followup. I'm committed to helping every patient I treat and invite any patient to come in so we can review results. I am continuously working on helping people who have more aggressive hair loss patterns and I may be able to offer some options. Please contact our office to discuss further.

You speak or a 'rate', a 'high' rate. Rates have numbers associated with them. Specific numbers that arise from a stastitical study. For example in patient population of say 100 cases, an 80% success rate would mean 80 of the patients had success and 20 didn't. Have you actually done a stasticical study as to your own patient population to determine a rate? If 'no', your self assessment of 'high rate of success' is meaningless.

You also speak of the informed consent form. Tell us on this string WHAT it says in terms of risks or failure rate possibilities. Does your informed consent convey that one of the risks of it is that it may NOT work for every patient or something like that? Tell us the RISKS listed on your informed consent.

Seems to me the patient isn't inclined to come back to you for a follow up which would be the case if he saw no results with your first treatment.

Moot point whether or not you remember the conversation. The salient point is that he's asking for his money back for work you did NOT do; the follow up. He's electing not to follow up with you because he saw no results with his first treatment with you and has established his personal risk profile with YOU as the provider is 100% failure. His 'statistical sample'=1; himself.

So, in the absence of any importance whether or not you 'recall' talking to such a patient, tell the audience WHY you charge $5,000 up front for 2 treatments and WHY in the event a patient elects NOT to have the 2ncd one (due to the first failing to succeed) you won't give them a refund based on the work you have NOT done; the 2ncd treatment a patient decides not to have with you.

All you have done here is basically exploit the patient's unhappiness to promote yourself.

Amiya Prasad,
I called your office numerous time ask for half of the money back! Every other doctor charges $2,000.00 to $2,500.00 for individual Acell PRP treatment. I cannot continue this treatment if I did not see any results on the first time. I don’t want to proceed with this. I can call you and resolve this in good manner, but don’t tell me I will see results on my second treatment. I leave in Massachusetts, but I will drive to Long Island seek my rights with a lawyer, if you don’t want to solve this in right way.

You charge me for 2 procedure and I see no results on the first step( and I was down there after a year and I told you I did not see any results). All I am asking is my other half. I not get my scalp numb for a procedure that did not work on the first step. It is pointless. I will call tomorrow around 11 am(again). I can talk to you, but I won’t drive down there for you to tell me that it is working.

I will leave my number and I am going to tell is the guy from the real self. I have pictures on my phone.

What's his set up. Like does he tell you the FIRST treatment is $5,000 and the next one is 'free' or does he make you pay in advance for 2 treatments. Clearly, his set up is not one where you pay for each individually where you have the OPTION of not getting another one with him in the event it doesn't work.

Did you ever think about WHY someone promoting himself as a type of 'eyeguy' would be doing hair therapy??? A good eyeguy will get plenty of patients because he's good with the eyes and doesn't have to add hair therapy to his services. Like why didn't you go to a hair restoration guy? As to the 'high rate of success' he touts. He could be referring to the success rate of OTHER doctors, like hair restoration docs.
UPDATED FROM redamagon

Returned half of the money.

He has returned half of the money. Please don’t watch a video and think that you being a Norwood 6,5,4,3 will get a fair result. It is a snake oil. There is no scientific proved results that this will work. It is not FDA approved. Take it from me. I did not get any results, if though he thought he saw something. Only 3 ways to maintain your hair; Propecia, Rogaine and transplant. DON’T be fooled!
