After years of nothing being happy with my smile...

After years of nothing being happy with my smile and after wearing braces for 3 years, I decided to get porcelain crowns.
It's been 3 long months of going back and forward, with the lab making mistake after mistake, now I got my final crowns, but still not happy.
These are super white (it would have been good if all my teeth were this white), the dentist said the after I remove my bottom braces that he will whiten my bottom to match the top, but I'm still not confident that it will look right.
Also I feel like something if off, but Not sure what.
I'm just exhausted of all of this and on top of it I'm freaking out, because I've been reading online bad reviews about crowns, and don't wanna loose my teeth, specially not the front ones.
Anyone has done crowns?
What was your experience?
Has anyone had crowns for more than 20 years?

I know several women with all crowns (including my mom). Honestly that's what a lot of celebrities do since the crown goes around the whole tooth. As long as they are done properly you shouldn't have any reason to worry! They look absolutely beautiful! I would maybe just suggest that the dentist adds dental bonding on the teeth that are next to the crown on each side. Just the one tooth on each side. Also, I think with zoom whitening or similar on the lower teeth everything will blend good but if not you also could have them put Dental bonding on all the showing lower teeth to get those really white too. And that's pretty inexpensive!

Wow 20 years ago? That is great.
Did she ever had any problem?
I sometimes worry that one will fall out.

I too, am looking at veneers! I have twins who are 30 years old, They now both have veneers from a pageant which offers free veneers! They had different dentists. Being their mother I noticed HUGE differences, not only in their smiles, but the type of procedures, shape, shade, etc. of their teeth! One twins teeth look like a horse! They are longer than her normal teeth were, and her smile is different. The other twin had to go back and have them "shaped". I did like hers a little better! These are Dentist's in the LA area and Beverly Hills. Your teeth look very white! You may not be use to them yet! They may need to be shaped to give more character or more to your liking. I assume the darkness around your gum line is from healing gums. They look awfully "squared off". they really look perfect though, hopefully the bottom will match! I would take a break from the dentist for a while and then go back, so you don't have any more anxiety! Good luck, I will try to remember to post my daughters pics!!

Were your twins happy with the outcome? Are they identical twins (now with different teeth)?
July 17, 2016
Twins? I'm confused.

I apologize for my last comment,
I hadn't seen this comment.
The dark line around the gums was because the picture was taken the day I got the crowns.
I'm still not happy with the shade.
I finally removed the bottom braces and the bottom and top back are totally different from the 6 crowns.
Even after whitening I don't think it will match, and also for how long will the whitening last (I can't aford to be whitening my teeth all the time, and don't think it will be good for my teeth either)
These crowns are totally different from my previous teeth, (I'll try to update a previous picture).
Also I feel like the left side is 1mm longer than the right.
Would like to see the twins pictures, also like dkspaceguitar asked, were the twins happy with the outcome?
I just really want to be happy with my smile, I've always covered my mouth when laughing and would not smile for pictures, I really thought it would be different after I got the crowns, but I still don't smile.
My husband is getting tired of hearing me complain about my teeth. I really need to make decisions.
Which shade do you guys think is the best for a natural smile, I lknow it all depends on everyones teeth.
But I just wanna have an ideia,

They will never be a perfect match in color..... I think you need to give it some more time (a year), but still let your dentist know that you are dissatisfied. Maybe they can be balanced a to your liking yet. While you are waiting out the emotional feelings about them, try bonding the next tooth like that other girl suggested. Be patient. Maybe you'll like them better it care less after a year.

(My husband cannot stand listening to anything about my teeth either :(

Having extensive work done on your front teeth can take quite a bit of time to ge use to, so give it some time... (A year?) I don't know what else to tell you besides you are not alone. Did deep. Find the courage it will take to live a healthy, productive life. What did your teeth look like to start? Ps. I feel the same way as you. It must be common?

I would like to add, that the color is great. If they were too yellow, you wouldn't have liked that either. No color will ever be a perfect match.

Maybe contouring the edges of the laterals and making them slightly shorter than the centrals would help. Polishing the canine in perhaps.....Anything you do cannot be undone.

I had braces before doing the crowns. I never smiled in pictures until I got my temporary crowns. I've always wanted to have beautiful teeth (was bullied in school), and now that I did this I feel weird, like I don't recognize myself. I keep looking in the mirror and thinking that something is off with the left side. At night sometimes I have a hard time sleeping, thinking what if the crowns fail... What will I do... I only planned on having work done on my 4 front teeth, and the dentist told me 6 crowns. Now that I've been reading stories online I think I should have done 2 crowns and 2 veneers and not touch the canines. I'm usually very shy and I was super nervous at the time of appointment, so I didn't really discuss other options, which I think the dentist should have given me (to late to go back). Have you had any work done? What was like your experience?

Click on my name and you can read about it...
I am redoing a previously botched job and have been in temps about 8 months now. My new office is ready to push me into some other tragedy ;)
Not wonderful.

Your teeth are beautiful!!!! Are you kidding? I am so jealous(lol) Like you I have been wanting a beautiful smile for many years. I plan to consult this year with a few docs. I wish I was in your shoes. Your teeth are beautiful. I cant wait until I can change my smile.

I know the feeling of not being happy and think you should get the teeth you wish for, because we paid a lot of money for these. Have you asked for a refund or anything from the dentist that did your? I don't understand how dentist let clients leave unhappy, even if he thought your crowns were good, he should do his best to make the crowns you want. Please keep me posted on you progress and I Will do the same. I removed my bottom braces today and my teeth color look so different from the crows. Hopefully will be able to whiten them.

No before photo? Seeing where you started will help put this into perspective for me...
July 27, 2016
They look great! Doing 6 is better than 4 . Doing just 4 would not have looked good. You can always just bleach the bottoms to match. Had a crown on my front tooth that lasted 20 yrs. So just take good care of them brushing/flossing, they will last a long time. Use a non abrasive toothpaste like proenamel sensoydene. P.s. all my teeth are crowns....

Hmmmm. They look beautiful either way, but it does look like if you were going to do anything to them, they were ready.... Be patient. Time heals???
July 20, 2016
I think this was not too bad.and it looks more natural than now.
July 24, 2016
Ok, I'm just being honest, yes your teeth look very different from before but now, they look perfect before they were too small and diff colors, when I first saw your pics I thought that's how I'd like mine too look! I know they are very white but you can get inexpensive at home whitening for your bottom teeth, consider it maintenance for your new smile, almost every procedure requires some matenaince but it's usually worth it as opposed to looking like we did before
July 25, 2016
We are all our own worst critic. Your teeth look beautiful. Smile.
July 25, 2016
Agreed MrE.

Will you post another picture of your veneers similar composition to the photos you posted of your natural
