3/21/12 - I had my first session today. It was about 45 minutes. It was pretty painful. It didn't feel like a deep tissue massage to me. But no pain, no gain. The tech was great, she explained everything. She lubricated an area of the thigh with lotion and used the Velashape machine over that area. You feel the suction, which is grows to be more and more uncomfortable as it goes back and forward over the same area. Then you feel the heat. She explained that they want the area to reach 102 degrees...it felt like fire when by time it reaches 102 degrees. She measured the area with a digital thermometer. The inner thighs hurt the most and back of the thighs hurt the least. My thighs remained red for most of the day, they are still sore, but no bruising (YET). The tech said they don't recommend exercising the same day of treatment, but personally she didn't see why I shouldn't. She told me to make sure I drank 8 glasses of water today, maybe some green tea to help detox. I wore my compression garment for the rest of the day. Worked out on the elliptical for 30 minutes, I tried to run (too painful).

OK, I'm assuming the next 5 sessions are going to be the same, so I will only post an update if I have something new to report. I'll post pics after my last session.

My first appointment for Velashape is on 3/19/12....

My first appointment for Velashape is on 3/19/12. I have read many discouraging reviews but I have hope. I signed up for 6 weekly sessions for the full thigh area. I don't have a problem with cellulite at all, I'm looking for circumference reduction. I'm 5'2 133 pounds, the before and after pics they showed me looked promising. Now I signed up for this fully understanding that this will take work on my part. So, for the duration of my treatment I will try to follow these steps: Water - I'm gonna try to drink 32 oz of water before and 32 oz of water after treatment. And as much more water as I can stand for the rest of the day. Compression - I purchased a pair of Spanx as I heard compression aids the body with flushing the released fat. Diet - No fried food, no alcohol, limited sugar, and a basic low fat diet. Supplement - I heard positive things about Niacin to help the body flush the released fat. (I know there are concerns about flush - so don't follow me without consulting physicians. Lymphatic System Stimulation - I will incorporate daily dry brushing and I may get 1 or 2 lymphatic massages (again to help the body flush the released fat). Excercise - I already do cardio excercises 4 days a week, I might try to add 1 more day. But I will incorporate strength training at least 3 times a week. I will post before pictures soon.
