How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I'm a new user to RealSelf and this site probably didn't even exist when I got my procedure, but I feel compelled to write this.

I saved money to deal with the varicose veins that had been pronounced (protruding green, though not knotted) since my early 20s. I was mid-30s when I had the procedure with Dr. Sadick. I'd read his name mentioned in magazines, so I thought he must be reputable. (I was too naive to realize that he simply had a great PR machine getting him publicity.)

Dr. Sadick was the one who gave me the consultation, but on the day of my procedure, he basically walked me into the procedure room and left me there in the hands of some old woman assistant, who performed the procedure herself, while I lay there horrified and too dazed from valium to really take charge. I kept asking "Where is Dr. Sadick? Isn't Dr. Sadick going to come and do this?" and she basically kept ripping into my legs and ignored me. When someone is slicing into your legs in an office room (which by the way, did not look in the least bit sanitized), you hope it's a real doctor.

A day following my procedure, I had a question about whether I could safely shower, and not only did the staff not connect me to Dr. Sadick nor to a nurse, they took a message and didn't even call me back. I had to call again later that day. For $6,000 and a significant procedure, you would think there might be some concern and sense of care.

Most importantly: this assistant who performed my procedure left one vein unaddressed. So though the rest were removed, I still have one significant unsightly vein. Needless to say, I did not want to return for a correction — even if I did, I do not believe, based on the "service level" received after my procedure, that the doctor would have offered to correct it. But clearly I wouldn't want any more treatment from his office.

The end result? I don't have before/after pictures, unfortunately. I can say that the main veins were removed, so that's a positive. But I was left with horizontal scar marks of about 1/4 to 1/3 inch in length, where she cut into my legs. Perhaps this scarring would have been the case with this procedure from someone else, but I will never know.

All I can say is ASK whether your doctor will be the one performing your procedure.
