As I've gotten older, I got thick around the middle. It made me sad. Even when I lost weight, I still had this fat on my tummy and lower back that sort of filled in my waist. I hated not being able to wear the clothes I like, to always have to choose clothing that would hide this area.
I came across Coolsculpting first, and was ready to do it, but the person I was going to see canceled on me at the last minute, so I did some more research and decided to try Vanquish instead. I'm so glad I did. I'm having my 10th treatment this week. That will make 5 on my back fat and 5 on my lower tummy.
I swear, fat has melted away! I was lying in bed last night pinching my stomach. Where I used to pinch an inch and a half of fat I now pinch a half inch at most. Last Saturday, my boyfriend, who I hadn't seen in a few weeks, was hugging me and then I felt him run his hands up and down the sides of my new waist, as if thinking "Hm... this wasn't there before!" (He doesn't know about the treatments because it's none of his business!)
I'm wearing pants I couldn't button before, and I'm down two sizes. I'm looking for tops that will show off my waist. I walk around feeling my waist in disbelief. This is all completely true and no one is paying me to say this. When I get my latest "after" pictures, I'll post my before and afters.
I want to add that at first I had my doubts. I'd look at other people's before and after pictures and not see much of any difference. But it's weird-- your circumference can get smaller yet be hard to detect in a photo. But I think when I post my photos you will see the difference. Hazel says I've had really good results. I agree. This was money well spent.
If anyone has questions, please comment and I will answer as best I can.

after the fat is gone, what happens to the skin that was stretched over it?

Hi,
According to this video, you can expect a little bruising in the treated area.

Gina she had Vanquish not CoolSculpting. They are two very different procedures, Vanquish is not painful, has no downtime. You must drink a lot of water.

You're right. There's no bruising, no downtime. And I drink gallons now, as a regular thing. I'm very happy with my results and the procedure makes more sense to me than coolsculpting. I was concerned about that block of frozen fat--what about the adjoining areas of fat? My results look very natural.

Thanks so much for pointing that out to me and sharing the differences with us. I love the helpfulness in this community :)

You should not use Vanquish to try to lose so much weight that extra skin would be a problem. If so, you will probably be disappointed. You are supposed to be close to your desired weight/size but with problem areas, usually around the middle, that are resistant to dieting for Vanquish to be a good choice.

Congratulations Ivy, you can see a difference in your photograph but it doesn't look significant, so thanks for explaining the differences you've experienced. So glad it worked for you and you are happy. I have a stubborn spot I am thinking of getting done and your review helped a lot.

I know it doesn't look significant. It's weird. You have to think about circumference, which is hard to see but very noticeable to ME in terms of the clothes I can wear comfortably now. My waist has gone down 3". That's significant. My love handles, or flanks, are much less. The fat I used to be able to pinch on my stomach was at least an inch. Now it's half that.

Embarrassing... but great for me!

I'm 63 and carred 3 babies so cut me some slack. What I want you to notice is the change! I have gone down at least 2 full inches around my waist. I'm wearing size 6 in Banana Republic tight pants. I can FEEL the difference when I pinch what used to be the fat around my middle. My BMI is down from 30 to 26.9. This treatment has really worked for me and I'm so happy to be wearing the clothes I like.

thanks for pointing out the change in BMI; nothing like a cold hard fact to make a point.

I absolutely notice the difference. Being 62 is not the same as 32 or even 42 and having some concave abdomen is not the goal.
You look great.
You look great.

Thanks! The current picture is not all that recent. I'll try to get them to send me my latest one after I go in for my last treatment in a couple of days. I think it will finally be really obvious that my body has changed.

I can also see a difference.
Thank you for your story-it helps those of us who are searching for liposuction alternatives. I am in a similar position in that I began retaining more fat in my mid-section as the years went on. Mainly on my flanks and back so my clothes 'catch' and don't drape properly. I've gained less than ten pounds since my twenties (now 59) but most of it went to my waist and upper hips. So, you are having ten sessions? How far apart? Also, I want to say that your skin appears smoother in your "after" photos.

Thanks. Those aren't my most recent "afters." I've had more than 10 sessions, 14, and now I'm done, and I know exactly what you mean about clothes not fitting right. I've lost 3 inches around my waist so far. My tummy is still not "bikini ready" and I have a bit more to lose on the flanks, but they tell me these treated areas will continue to slowly shrink for 3 months. That would be great. But I'm very happy with the results so far. I'm throwing out my old baggy cardigans and the tops I used as camouflage for so long. It feels great.

Thanks for your review. I have had the same concerns from seeing before and after pictures that do not look that different. However, I met with Christy at Skin Appeal in Tucson. When I asked her why her office offered Vanquish instead of Coolsculpting, she answered that she had experience with CS and considered Vanquish a better solution. Knowing that someone has actually used an alternative on clients previously so that their decision was informed is an important consideration. I also had an evaluation for Coolsculpting but decided that I think Vanquish will be better for me. After I have my procedure I will post my results.
Congrats on what sounds to be a very successful procedure. I love your comment about it not being your boyfriend's business. I would probably be the same way. How was your recovery? Were you able to resume normal activity relatively quickly? I can't wait to see your after pics. Please keep us updated.
