Had smartlipo on Friday, October 21. Most challenging part of the procedure was the administration of the local anesthesia, which was quite painful at points. Also a few "ouch!"
moments when the doctor was near the edge of the area that was numb. Trip home was uncomfortable as the blood-tinged numbing agenda was leaking out. Maxi pads became soaked very quickly so a bit was leaking down my legs, and soaked my clothes during the cab ride home. Had a towel underneath me so as not to make a mess on the seat! I was advised to eat a full meal as soon after the procedure as possible, but couldn't keep anything down and vomited everything up. The first night was difficult, slept for an hour at a time, and woke up to really bad dizziness--walking to bathroom required my holding onto the walls. By the next day, felt quite okay--drank copious amounts of water, which I think is helping flush out the remainder of the anesthesia. Only issue was lots of "brain fog." Just taking the antibiotic that doctor prescribed, and one round of Tylenol extra strength. Today is the second day after surgery--a little stiff, sore, and bruised, but feel okay. Took a shower which helped feel more normal. The only challenge with the shower was the stinging sensation when water from the shower hit the incisions. Planning to return to work tomorrow and will see how the day goes.

Which part did you have Lipo and how much did you weigh before?
October 24, 2016
Wow. I had mine Friday too by Dr. Myla, and my experience was smooth and unexpectedly not painful. Guess you just never really know how your experience will be huh? Hoping you have a gentle and speedy recovery!
October 24, 2016
Thanks. It was only the administration of the anesthesia that was painful. I didn't take any type of medicine prior--no chill pills--so that might have heightened the pain threshold. I am actually quite surprised how easy a procedure it was. My doctor was awesome!
October 29, 2016
Thank you for sharing. My PS called about taking the meds to chill and I declined. So I'm all set for a Monday.

You got this!! It will be so worth it--even with the swelling that hadn't completely subsided, I am loving my results!
October 29, 2016
*hasn't. : )
October 29, 2016
Have you tried Arnica gel for the swelling ? I should have taken stock in this product after my TT. I massaged every few hours with it. I also lived on spa water to push out fluids. What are you loving the most so far?
October 29, 2016
LOL-i would have bought half of your stock!I have been taking the Arnica pellets, but definitely need to figure out the massage situation. I have a pesty lump mid-abdomen that simply has to go : ) What I love so far is the curvature waist:hip. I was hourglass before, but now it is much more pronounced. I am drinking lots of water, as well, and eating a high-protein diet, which I think has helped a lot with the recovery. I can not believe I am only one week out--I feel great!
October 29, 2016
Congrats on the smooth recovery. Have you tried Bromelain for the swelling ?
Arnica gel massaged using little circles will help break up that pesky lump for you. I had a few that I had to massage out too. Happy continued healing.
October 29, 2016
Thank you!!
October 29, 2016
Hadn't heard of Bromelain, so I'll look into it - thank you!
Had my first lymphatic massage today - it was not a walk in the park, but I hear it aids in recovery.
Same to you!
October 29, 2016
Yes the lymphatic messages were wonderful after my TT. Tumeric was my other go to remedy for swelling. I have all of them ready to go to keep swell hell away again. The other thing I drank was dandelion and ginger tea. Can you tell how much I didn't want to stay swollen.
October 28, 2016
Omg I was there Friday the 21 st too! But I'm more today than ever. Hope you are doing better
October 28, 2016
I think I saw you leave. I was so nervous.
October 28, 2016
Are you serious--small world!! I am very happy so far, how about you?
October 28, 2016
I hope seeing me leave did not add to your nerves--LOL!! How are you feeling? I am only slightly sore now, and really impressed with how quickly I was "up and running"!
October 28, 2016
No actually seeing you gave me courage ! I was a chicken. I guess I worked starting Tuesday and I am a dental hygienist. Must be on the run. It was a bad idea. I was doing fine till today.
October 28, 2016
Sorry to hear it wasn't a good day. What is the issue--pain? Soreness? I developed itching last night after I removed my garment for a shower.
October 28, 2016
I was just thinking about your "ouch!" My thinking was well she only put one ! So she either isn't overly excitable or has a high tolerance to pain. I will focus on the number of ! I will use to rate my "ouch". ❤️
October 28, 2016
Love it!!
October 31, 2016
I have to say I only had an ouch near my ribs. Pleased to say it I was very comfortable. Was thinking of you when my PS said you will feel a little pinch and burn. Each time he was near my ribs I could feel his presence but not an ouchie. So I would say like YOU ouch! Thanks for keeping my mind occupied.
No for the healing to begin.

Already see a difference

New York5251
My procedure was on Friday, today is Monday and I am heading back to the office. I already see a difference and feel it in my clothes--a size 14 dress that was skin tight prior to the procedure is hanging ever so comfortably. With the swelling that was predicted I was afraid my clothes would be too tight in the weeks following the procedure--that hadn't been the case...yet. Here's hoping the trend continues.

Love the trend of comfy lose clothes. Happy healing

Thank you

How are you feeling now?
October 26, 2016
I feel good! A little sore on my butt and somewhat stiff--the compression garments make rising from a prone position tough sometimes, but nothing intolerable really!
October 26, 2016
What type of garment are you wearing ?
October 26, 2016
The one the surgeon's office provided, and a waist trainer on top of that for now. I will eventually switch to my post-Lipo garments from Colombia.

How's your recovery been? Great news on the jacket.
October 27, 2016
Thanks, Ad Girl. The recovery has truly been much easier than I expected. Had my procedure on a Friday, rested over the weekend, kept very well hydrated, and out the door as normal for work on Monday : ) Are you excited about your upcoming procedure? Looking forward to following your progress!
October 27, 2016
Getting excited. Wish is was over with already. Kind of know what to expect because of my Tummy Tuck with lipo a year ago. Every area is different so hoping for no swell hell for me. Taking photos of my back is hard to do. I want photos to document my journey. I'm happy I have the photos from the TT transformation. Happy healing to you and new clothes soon.

Compression is the key to successful results.. U have to stay compressed day and night.. also invest in a lipo board and start using it after 2 weeks it's helps a lot.. try not to sit for long periods because you're gonna get that fold and bulge in your belly..also when the lumps start coming get u a rolling pin and roll the upward toward your heart.. good luck
October 27, 2016
Thanks for the good advice--your results are great--you look fabulous!
