I first started to look into breast augmentation the summer of 2015. When I was younger breast surgery was never even a thought to me but as you get older especially after kids your body changes and it can really affect your self confidence. I went to numerous consultations with about three other doctors before deciding on going with Dr Schulman. I decided on getting surgery with Dr Schulman because he made me feel very comfortable at the consult. I felt confident in his expertise as I had also researched him and didnt come upon any negative reviews. I looked at numerous before and after pics on his website as well and I liked his work. I booked my surgery about 8 months after my consultation because I was extremely nervous. I had never had any type of surgery. I was well aware of the risks and went back and forth on whether I should pursue this because even with the best doctors there is a risk of complications. At my preop I led Dr Schulman decide what size implants would best suite my body and I am extremely glad that I did. He gave me exactly what I asked for, I stressed I didnt want the fake round look or implants or a huge gap between both breasts. I got sientra round smooth silicone implants 325 in one breast and 355 in the other to correct some slight assymetry. The weeks prior to surgery his PA Tami made sure I had my perscriptions for my meds and that I was medically cleared for surgery. The day of the surgery I was extremely nervous but Dr Schulmans staff, especially Nurse Jay made me feel much more at ease. I was prepped for surgery around noon my surgery was at 1. When you go in they check your vitals make sure everything in normal. You sign some last minute paperwork as well. They insert an iv into your arm and bring you into the surgery room. The surgery room as well as the office itself is immaculate. I remember looking up at the surgical light and then waking up. Dont remember being in the recovery room. I have to stress that his anesthesiologist was also great I had no nausea when i woke from surgery and I had zero pain. I went with the rapid recovery using botox as well as the exparel which was an additional cost but so worth it. I took tylenol the first day and no meds after that. The pain was very mild. My breasts felt sore like you do when your on your period. The only complication I had was that the dissolvable sutures in my left breast didnt dissolve as they should i guess and my scar wasnt closing on one side. I had to take a second round of antibiotics and that took care of it. When I had noticed that the scar wasnt healing the way it should I called the office right away leaving a message on his emergency line and got a call immediately from Dr Schulman himself. It has now been three months since the surgery and honestly I could not be happier. The whole experience was great and all because of dr schulman, his amazing staff. I would recommend him to anyone wanting cosmetic surgery and eventually I want to go back to him for another procedure
