Hello all!
I suffer from keloid skin and over the years I have developed large and painful keloids on my chest. After doing extensive research and weighing my options, I decided to go with Lexington Plastic Surgeons clinic in New York. Tomorrow is your day.  Please post an update and let s know how everything goes.

Everything is fine. Pain is mild to moderate depending on how much moving around I do. My incisions are all on my chest so it makes the slightest movements complicated. Overall I'm good though.

Glad to hear you are doing well.  It will get easier each day as you heal.

How much was the cost

Mines was covered by my insurance because they cause me pain. Ask your insurance company and talk with Lexington plastic surgery and they will let you know if it's covered. Good luck

I have several painful keloids and after seeing your pictures and reading your review i want to know have you had any regrowth since having keloids removed?
May 27, 2016
yes please update us. It would be soooo HELPFUL. I am losing hope because it seem that nothing can be done w/ chest keloids.

Everything went well with my surgery. Unfortunately Dr. Jones only removed 3 of my keloids but he said due to the positioning of them... It would be better to remove the others on a later date. I have went through 2 superficial radiation treatments and they are painless. My only complaint was the pressure needed to secure the beam over the incision. Uncomfortable feeling when you have just had surgery. Other than that, I'm good. Dr. Jones was a sweetheart and he really calmed my nerves going into surgery. I'm just mad that I didn't get a selfie with him lol. Will post pics later.

Just curious, why did you need the superficial radiation treatments? Was this to keep the tissue from forming more deep scars?
August 28, 2015
Exactly. It kills the skin cells or weakens them so another keloid doesn't form there

No I didn't pay that. Just my deductible.
September 13, 2015
I went for my consultation last week if it not to much to ask what insurance do you have???
August 25, 2015
That really cost an arm and leg. I can't afford it.

Oh that's awesome! I am in pain! Keloids on chest, both arms, and at my back. It all started from acne. My insurance is BlueCross Shields. How much is the copay?
September 4, 2015
No copay just deductible. Depends on your plan.

God bless you wishing the best for you.

8 days post op. I returned to work on Friday. Sore and a slight struggle but I made it????. My incisions are still in tact. Every now and then I will get sharp pains from them but I would compare the pain to what I had when the keloids were there originally. I am still on antibiotics and I discontinued the pain meds yesterday. My incisions are starting to darken but I was told that this was a side effect to the superficial radiation. No biggie though... Better than having those keloids there. Anywho I have to remove my sutures on Thursday.... So I will update on that experience:)
