Dr. Pearlman performed my rhinoplasty at the end...
Dr. Pearlman performed my rhinoplasty at the end of August 2016 - so it's just over two months now - and I AM THRILLED with the results. I cannot recommend Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery and Dr. Pearlman enough! I think the biggest compliment to him is not only that I LOVE my new nose, but that friends of mine and people I shared my story with, are asking for his contact details!!! I wanted to give it some time before sharing my experience to see how I am healing - and now after two months my nose is healing wonderfully and I LOVE how it looks.
Prior to selecting Dr. Pearlman, my research took years. The nose is one of the main features of your face and I have seen and heard the horror stories, so it took me quite a while to decide whether I wanted to proceed with the surgery in the first place. Once I decided on the surgery, it took me about a year to research various doctors/plastic surgeons in New York City and New Jersey, reading hundreds of reviews and looking at countless before-and-after photos. While corresponding/discussing the surgery details with some of the doctors, I began to narrow my list and came upon Dr. Pearlman in New York City.
During my consultation with Dr. Pearlman, I discussed what I wanted done which was to remove a bump on my nose and maybe narrow it a bit. He took photos and simulated the potential surgery results on the computer. Dr. Pearlman was very professional, realistic in his approach and focused on a natural result. He has extensive experience in FACIAL cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, thorough educational background and dual board certification - these were all very important to me. Also, when I meet him and as we discussed the surgical details, I knew this was someone who has done this procedure many times over just by his deep knowledge of what needed to be done and the ease in communicating it to me.
Courageously, I scheduled the surgery appointment. During my pre-op appointment, I was given a folder of all the steps to follow several weeks before the surgery. We discussed all the pro's and con's and read all the material several times when I went home. As with any surgery, there are no guarantees. However, I was confident that I selected the right surgeon.
On the day of the surgery, I went in by myself but had to have my husband pick me (you have to have someone pick you up after surgery). The surgery lasted about 3 hours I believe and to my surprise, I only had a bandage/cast on my nose (I thought it would be more obtrusive somehow). What surprised me the most was that the pain was mild and tolerable. It's the breathing through my nose that bothered me more. The next day, I went in and they took out the packing from inside my nose. The next week I went in and they took off the cast. And this is the MOMENT OF TRUTH: when the cast comes off! This is the single most important moment, I realized later, out of the entire process. This is the moment I saw my new nose for the first time and even with the swelling, I could see the shape of it and knew that I would love it even more as the swelling went down. Each week, the beautiful new shape emerged, the black and blue eyes faded and I was able to go outside in two weeks. About a month later, when I told some of my friends, they were inquiring about Dr. Pearlman's details because they loved my new nose and how natural it looked.
Now, two months later, every time I look in the mirror I just love my new nose. It fits my face perfectly and looks so natural. Dr. Steven Pearlman and his entire staff are truly exceptional: Donna was incredible as I first contacted the office and handled the paperwork with her; Christine, the nurse, was simply amazing during pre-op and post-op appointments, again, very confident in what she does which put me at ease; and each of the ladies I met after the surgery-friendly, professional, knowledgeable and attentive.
I share this lengthy story and my experience with Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery because I know how helpful I found other individuals' reviews and photos during my research process.
Rhinoplasty is a serious surgery and I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Steven J. Pearlman and Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery if you are considering a surgeon in the NYC/NJ area for rhinoplasty/nasal surgery. Based on how I feel now, I find myself thinking why I did not do this sooner. Given my great initial experience, I did Botox for my frown lines and am doing under-eye filler for dark circles. I am tremendously thankful to Dr. Pearlman and his entire team for performing the surgery seamlessly and giving me this wonderful feeling when I look in the mirror. Thank you so much!!

This is an update to my original post on the rhinoplasty with Dr. Steven J. Pearlman. I asked if they could provide me with the before and after photos they took as I believe they are even better at showing the difference the surgery has made.
