How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I am a complex revision case and realize of...

I am a complex revision case and realize of everyone I consulted for help, Dr. Kim was one of the few that listened to me (although even he couldn't quite see what cheaper surgeons should).

Here's what I wish I had done with any surgeon: made him feel my nose and look inside (I had a breathing issue and still do), brought pictures of people with similar noses and problems (in my case, people of people with noses that are crooked due to injury), and asked him if he could accomplished closed what he suggested doing open, with my cartilage. He also said he was comfortable administering kenalog injections for thick skin.

This is what I wish HE had done: shown me pictures of other rhino patients he worked on, even children, just so I could understand if he had aesthetic ability to surgically reconstruct a face (his purported background, which I believe but really wanted photographic evidence of); done some sort of imaging.

He quoted me $12,000 for a revision rhinoplasty and while I realize he's working with access to a hospital...that seemed as high as other surgeons that I could find reviews of, who have built up a reputation in Manhattan. It might be because he has an ENT background. I won't dismiss how expensive it is maintaining a practice here, but that price made me look elsewhere, even though I now realize he was a lot more trustworthy than the last two surgeons I was down to that wouldn't answer questions, didn't explain anything, and rushed me.

I recommend this to any patient doing more than Sculptra with him--take a list of your issues, make a surgeon feel your nose, and challenge them to show you similar patients. Write down their answers. Research it, and then do a final consult long before surgery day, taking notes to check off your "game plan" and bringing that to the morning of surgery too.

I went with a surgeon that I could find more reviews of and now I regret it beyond description. I feel misled.

I only went through a consult. I wish he'd had imaging, other rhino patients to show me, and quoted me a lower price, but he listened to me, and I was grateful for it. I almost took Sophie up on his offer to email another rhinoplasty patient. In hindsight, I should have taken his comparative reactions to my complaints and issues about my nose against other surgeons I consulted with and pushed those with less "bedside manner" harder to actually focus on the problems I was describing.
