How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I went to Dr. Miller in the decision phase and...

I went to Dr. Miller in the decision phase and ultimately realized it was too soon. What I came away with is this--if I had found him ten years ago, I would probably not be a revision patient. (I am sad I didn't.)

He took pictures of me; informed me based on my own less-than-helpful surgeon's post-op notes; and yes, all but held my hand, even though I was only 4 weeks after a rhinoplasty that scared the hell out of me because the swelling as unlike anything I expected. He even recommended other people to talk to.

Most importantly, he LISTENED to me, even though I was a nervous wreck; this is something even surgeons I was seriously considering surgery with did not do. In the last two years of consults with at least 5 or 6 other NY surgeons, he stands out as a breath of fresh air and kindness over condescension, passive aggression, or willful deception. Bedside manner is not everything, but ability to guide patients and communicate effectively is. Based on how he spoke when I asked questions, I suspect his competence matches his demeanor. It reflects the capacity not only to slice and dice, but hold oneself accountable to patients.

I also suspect he is conservative (meaning--ask the usual questions about post-op care, "realistic expectations"), so be aware of that as you shop. But if I could judge other members of the office and the doctor himself, he loves his job more than a lot of high-publicity butchers and vultures with great PR.

I went to a consult in the consideration/research phase. I can only hope that first impression indicates who he is as a surgeon for every patient he has under his care. He even recommended other surgeons who could give me better information about the specific technique used on my nose (those who had written about it academically)
