A little change of plans - Still doing the procedure!!

Hi! After investigating a bit more and reviews received by doctors in this great website, I've decided to wait a little bit for my surgery. Don't get me wrong it will happen soon, but I was told that my BMI was a little too high and for the results I would like to have is better if I can get rid of some weight first.

Therefore I plan to have the procedure done on April 12th, allowing myself 2 months of diet and exercise. However I am doing things different this time.

First a balanced low carb - low fat diet made by a certified doctor
Second - Routine and follow up by a personal trainer
Third - Tracking and support (something I never did before)

My expected goal is to reduce first my BMI below 34 I currently have it in 36, and my fat % from 42 to 35%. Weight loss expected around 15 pounds or 7Kgs. The aim is that even though I will still be chubby, I might be able to see some improvement in my body and reduce any risks with the surgery.

The most important for me right now is to have the motivation and support from my family and friends, and to prove myself that I can indeed become a better version of myself!

Cheers!

Hi all! I decided after reading a lot in the...

Hi all! I decided after reading a lot in the website and feeling not at my fullest capacity to address my gynecomastia condition. I have had large male boobs since I was a teenager and it really changed the way I live. From not moving completely free in a disco with the fear of someone staring at you or wearing a towel all the way up like a lady, my life has been full of embarrassing moments.

Some people may claim that is about accepting yourself, I would say that is a big fat sad lie; if you know you can do something to change what you don't like or could be better and still decide to do otherwise then shame on you. I am not implying that everyone should go for a surgery because Im freaking out myself. But I spent so many years behind that excuse of (I need to like myself the way I am) that I feel I haven't live life at the fullest.

I already went to the endocrine and did my hormonal tests and everything came fine, I was diagnosed a bilateral gynecomastia in its mixed phase, with more glandular tissue in the right pec. I was referred to surgery and visited a doctor but I would like to have a second opinion.

I am currently weighting 215 pounds and 1.65cm height which doesn't help with the figure, but I haven't been unable to increase or reduce weight for over a year. I do some light exercise but the only part I seem to tone up are my arms and legs.

I asked the surgeon about reducing the flanks area and belly with liposuction, she said it was fine but I've been reading a lot about losing weight first and all that before a lipo; however I also think that after going through with a surgery like this, it will be a good motivation for me to keep up the gym and diet. (Sometimes is frustrating to train and not see any progress).

Well this is part of the plan, do you have any ideas or advices? Do you think is doable or should I wait for liposuction later? I appreciate any kind of feedback, since Im starting this self-awareness journey now.

Cheers!!!
