My First Halo Treatment

Let me start off by saying that I have had acne since I was in third grade, I am now 31 years old. I had a very serious and long-standing bout of acne which lasted until I took Accutane in 1999. After taking Accutane I had very deep scarring which caused me to be very self-conscious.

I have been trying different procedures, mostly noninvasive to try to minimize the scarring but I was too afraid to try the laser resurfacing.

I have been under the care of Dr. Pearlman/Heather/Donna for over one year now for micro needling, Botox and fillers. Audrey and Donna discussed the benefits to the halo laser and I was very interested. After my summer as a sun worshiper I decided that November 1 would be the perfect time to try the laser.

Procedure day, I came in and was warmly welcomed by the staff (I have been a resident of NYC for four years now and no other staff has been as professional as Dr. Pearlman's anywhere I've gone) and quickly taken back to my room to start numbing.

We took before photos and then the numbing cream was applied. Donna was very thorough in explaining everything. We discussed aftercare as well as what to expect.

During the treatment I didn't feel much pain, but afterwards I felt like my face was on fire. Donna was very sweet and gave me the vacuum like tool to keep the cool air on my face for about a full 45 minutes. We discussed aftercare again and then I got in a cab and headed home. During the car ride home I made sure to keep transferring the ice pack all over my face and the pain started to subside.

Once I got home I applied the cream that was given to me and I took a nap. Throughout the next few days I felt like the most important part was the vinegar soak. It really helped me to start the sloughing process. Also, be very careful that when you're applying the cream that you don't rub it too much and have the skin start coming off manually. You want to let everything fall off naturally.

By day seven all of the skin had shed and I felt like a new woman. When I applied make up on day nine I couldn't believe the change in texture, pore size and overall glow. I had received numerous compliments between day seven and nine regarding the glow.

I am attaching pictures so that you can see my progress, I would DEFINITELY suggest this & I would ABSOLUTELY suggest Dr. Pearlman's office for Botox, skin care & fillers, the staff is truly the best.

I went back to work on day 2. I only took the day off on the day of the procedure.

But I have heard you need at least a week because your skin is so red and raw? That's what scares me

You are absolutely stunning. I am curious about the micro needling that you did before the laser. Did they not do a very aggressive microneedling? What made you decide to choose the laser?

Can you tell me what setting the Halo laser was set for? My doctor tells me it can be mild, medium or aggressive.
